Below is a list of presumed QB starters in the NFC. This does not take into account draft picks, trades, or FA signings. We have been talking a lot about FA QBs, so I wanted to put this out there:

Arizona – Kyler Murray
Atlanta – Desmond Ridder
Carolina – Sam Darnold
Chicago – Justin Fields
Dallas – Cooper Rush
Detroit – Jared Goff
Green Bay – Jordan Love
Los Angelas – Matt Stafford
Minnesota – Kirk Cousins
New Orleans – Andy Dalton
New York – Daniel Jones
Philadelphia – Jalen Hurts
San Francisco – Trey Lance
Seattle – Geno Smith
Tampa Bay – Kyle Trask
Washington – Sam Howell

As you can see, the NFC is almost completely devoid of QB talent. Below are the FA QBs that would be available this off season:

Lamar Jackson
Taylor Heinicke
Baker Mayfield
Sam Darnold
Jimmy Garoppolo
Teddy Bridgewater
Daniel Jones
Case Keenum
Mason Rudolph
Jacoby Brissett
Geno Smith
Andy Dalton
Gardner Minshew
Tyler Huntley
Cooper Rush
Chad Henne
Nick Mullens
Drew Lock
Mike White

The point being, the NFC is full of terrible QBs and outside of Lamar, there are not any good FA options.

Once Houston selects a qb, I think Davis mills could be acquired. I think he's got some potential.

We could look at QB's on the bench.

What would 49's want for Purdy?

The backup at Dallas etc.

Also some QB always gets bent when their team drafts a top QB and wants out.

Goff would be tough to pull after his season IMO

Jimmy G is a complete waste because of his injury history. Don’t care how good he may be when healthy, even as a bridge QB.

Problem is who will help a project QB "realize potential"??

Payton gone
Joe Lombardi gone

Can Carmichael mold a QB? If not, then you have to go with a FA who doesn't need much coaching. With our spending capacity that means best we could hope for is Garoppolo.

Both of these options are far better than most of those starting FA's.

Lamar Jackson

Id take him if he wants to represent himself in negotiations. Surely our front office could outsmart him...maybe..

My vote is to stay the course- ADalton or some other veteran rental. There’s not an available QB that will make us a contender. Our ceiling w good to slightly above average QB play is 1st or 2nd round of playoffs. I would rather play a veteran that will teach our young guys good habits, clean up the cap, take our lumps, and come out of it w a high draft pick for a franchise QB and a new offense oriented coaching staff.
Unfortunately I think DA is going to mortgage the future to get Derek Carr in a vain attempt to save his job. That will just keep us in the 7-10 game win range and early playoff exits w an aging roster.

No idea, but he did a good job with Dalton. Dalton has had 3 seasons with a passer rating over 90 and a 2 to 1 ratio of td to int. This season, and the previous 2 were 2015 and 2016. This season was dalton's 2nd best season in passer rating.

If we can revive Dalton, I'd like to see what we can do with a better talent like carr.
