Yeah that's the most obvious one, or a Shawn Kemp. Honestly if we can get him to be Barkley, we'd be unstoppable

No. He's more like young Larry Johnson, but if young Larry Johnson spent time in the Captain America transformation chamber.

He’s none of those players. He has a special ability no one else in history has. His leaping ability is unique.

Larry Johnson was a killer too.

Those are pretty good comparisons.
Ingram and Ball are like poor man’s versions of Durant and Kidd but there are many similarities. Kidd was a terrible shooter early in his career and ended up one of the most prolific three point shooters in league history.
Jrue is an interesting one. Prime Alvin Robertson maybe?

Probably in about 10 years when he loses a step and develops a mid range

There isn't another player like Zion.
Barkley was no where near as athletic obviously, but size wise sure, there's a comparison.
The biggest most athletic player in the league is Lebron, and i think Zion is more athletic than him while being bigger, he's just not as skilled as Lebron.
What Zion is doing is something Lebron should have always been doing more of, posting up down low and using his size and athleticism to either back down the smaller guy or go around the bigger guy. His size and strength allows him to play against most big men in the league and be effective defensively, but we rarely see that from Lebron. Yes he posts up, but i think more often than not, he's doing it to draw a double team so he can pass out of it, and he's very effective at that.

Not bad, I think Jrue’s stats are more reflective of someone like Isaiah Thomas though
ETA: The bad boy Isaiah Thomas, if that wasn’t apparent

Zion has a mixture of a lot of players games.
Larry Johnson, Barkley, Kemp, Draymond Green, Giannis, Blake Griffin.
But like you said, he’s his own thing overall. Quickest second jump I’ve seen from a player. Not even into his grown man body yet and makes men look like boys. Just an unprecedented combination of athleticism and power.

Yeah, Barkley and Larry Johnson "amazing for their size" kind of players. Zion is a lot closer to Shaq and LeBron in being the physical mismatch nobody in the league has an answer for.

Barkley was an incredible athlete. He had a 38” vertical while weighing 300 pounds as a 6’5” center at Auburn. In the pros he got down to around 260 and became an absolute wrecking ball, the shortest player ever to lead the league in rebounding.
Barkley is the best comp for Zion or what Zion could be best case. Long career. Savage rebounder. Developed a jumper. Unstoppable on the break. Too quick for bigs in the paint. Explosive second jump. They are very similar, though agree a healthy Zion may slightly more explosive than even Sir Charles, which is scary for the rest of the league.

Yeah some of y’all are selling Barkley short on athleticism. Dude was a freak

Was thinking the same..
This team loves to get out and run, and when they're making jump shots, they can play with anybody.. but when the shots stop falling, we keep chucking and missing. We saw it plenty of times earlier this season
Now you add Zion to the mix, who can either put you on an ESPN top-10 highlight reel in transition, OR slow down and destroy these tweeners like Thaddeus Young or PJ Tucker.
The rest of the team just has to know when to stop shooting and start feeding him

nice analogy.
body but not games.
Grandmama could shoot from out, stepping into it on the run.
Zion cant.

I don’t know where this came from or when people just started throwing it out there, but if you look at his numbers, he didn’t really go from awful to incredible. He had one great 3 year stretch, but other than that, he was mostly always a decent 3 point shooter.
His last year in college he was 36%. By his second and third years in the league he was already shooting at what would basically be average seasons for him.

Yeah, they don't know much about Barkley to not see how nasty he was. Pure brute Force and athleticism from Charles Barkley.

LeBron wasn’t as physically strong as Zion, and didn’t have that quick second jump. LeBron used his size/strength/skill combination to drive to the rim rather than posting up. I’d say things have worked out for him.
