He has better stats than every player in the league and his efficiency is unmatched. Prove me wrong.

I love Zion just as much as the next Pels fan, but have you seen our record and how we blow leads?

That being said Zion is great and will likely be in the MVP conversation one day.

Zion is playing incredible.

But one easy example to prove you wrong would be the player on the team that scored two buckets in crunch time to beat pelicans last night ,while his team has a much better record , and he averages more points rebounds and assists than Zion. Does field goal percentage make up for all that?

Zion’s usage rate and minutes played are far too low for mvp talk. Zion is playing at an all time efficiency rate and he is still only averaging 26ppg.

Last night Zion took 19 shots and made 16. Jokic took 30 shots, and this was a high usage/high minute game from Zion. I really hope that next year they fully take the kids gloves off and allow him to be a high usage/high minute guy. Six more minutes of Zion could have been the difference in a lot of these close games.

this thread is dumb, but yesterday was the most absurd difference I have seen a single player make.

Offense:
131 when Zion was on the court
50 when Zion was on the bench

Defense:
113 when Zion was on the court
132 when Zion was on the bench

When Zion is willing to say "Gimme the damn ball!" and score or assist on the last four possessions of the game, then he's the MVP, and not before.

Generational player
NBA All Star
2nd Pick in NBA Draft

And team has a losing record.

Situation is really sad. Zion will be gone in a couple of years if Griffin and his coach do not finally earn their salaries.

Shamit tweet:

Zion is averaging 32/8.3/3.7 on 75.6% from the field in the last three games lol

Did starting Nickeil unlock Zion? My column

In case it isn't clear, Shamit is being sarcastic with the "starting Nickeil" bit. He's making fun of the people who said that we needed to keep Lonzo because Lonzo is so amazing at feeding Zion and Zion wouldn't be as good if we had traded Lonzo.

But Shamit is also making the point that every time that we get wowed by how incredible Zion is, he just takes it to another level.

He’ll win it in his next 2 or 3 seasons.

With a couple of off seasons, personal development, time to gel with team mates , high pick forthcoming and adding pieces... we’re
Going to be amazing and he will be the crown Jewell and unplayable putting up numbers on efficiencies that we’ve never seen before.

Book it!

They really should change the award to "Best Player on a Championship Contender"

If Zion's defense continues to improve, then he could really win it next season.

But his defense still needs to get better.

Last season?

Try just a couple months ago.

Now the new hot thing all the reactionaries are into is to claim BI is washed up, maxed out, permanently unclutch. Why? Because apparently at 23 and now being doubled pretty much every game from tip off means he will never learn and grow anymore.

Word.

There’s a handful of insightful and quite knowledgeable people here. It’s good to read... don’t always agree but coherent and succinct opinions should be valued.

....and then there’s the reactionary ‘blow it up, trade X, fire Y’ children / dummy spitters that seem to be the loudest.
