I thought thick was a great description until I viewed the video. Now my one word is fat.
I believed that Z was working himself into shape. I was not expecting a Sir Charles' transformation but this video should have fans and the organization concerned. Maybe this is a fake AI video but I doubt that.
To me the video shows Z lack of professionalism to lead. Zion will remain an offensive roller coaster and a one dimensional offensive player. I doubt he worked on his mid-range shoot. Z cannot continue to live on his potential.

Did you consider comping a player who is not perpetually injured?

I did not think about that. I was just trying to think of the most similar athlete in terms of size and build, that is currently playing. Leonard is always in great shape (freakishly strong), even if he is snake bit, when it comes to injuries.

Kind of a weird aside, Zion has been in the league 5 years. He is a career 25/7/4. Over the past 5 years (all with the Clippers), Leonard is averaging 25/7/4. Zion's TS% is 63%, Leonard is at 61%. Zion has played 184 games total, Leonard is slightly more at 229, in that time frame (both totally missed the 21-22 season completely). That is a lot of coincidences..

How's that working out so far for him?

We don't know, he's never played at that level.

Zion Weight Aug 19th

According to this article written on Aug 19th, Zion was supposedly 281, with a goal weight of 272 by opening night.

Lmao.

Bro, they are nowhere near the same body type. Zion was 270 in high school as his body filled out, this is a ridiculous comparison. Kawhi could never hit 250 and maintain anything he does on the court. Zion was born to be that big.

You blowed as hell dawg

You really believe that their "body types" would justify a 50-60lb weight difference? Do you believe that Zion's bones weigh more or that he requires that much additional muscle/bulk to exist?

It doesn't matter what we weighed in high school or college. He wasn't in proper condition and he never specifically sports trained for basketball. Any professional remotely associated with the sport will say the same thing. That why nobody with that type of height/weight combination has has ever succeeded in the game long term.

This is the frustrating part of this debate, cause Zion is an awesome player, even when he's let himself get bigger. He's naturally gifted. But no one is born to be that big, it's a choice.

He was supposed to complete a body recomposition. He needed to shed muscle and fat to rebuild his body, with the goal of losing bulk and lessening the pressure on his body. It takes years. If he started after he got drafted, he could have easily been in that 250 range now. It takes discipline and a radical commitment to self improvement. That's what professional athletes do, it's their job. Him, and his camp, do not know what they are doing, or he simply is not committed to being a great player. There are lots of players that coast on their natural talent and do the bare minimum.

What I'm saying is common sense. Your belief has no basis in logic, other than he's happy being big, so let him be or just have fun. You are OK with him only reaching a fraction of his potential. That's a shame..

It's just funny watching people try to white knight on this whole topic. A photo? I have been hounding on this topic since before Zion became a Pelican. He has stated, over and over, that it is a personal struggle, and he needs to improve. What exactly am I supposed to be making up?
