Yves Missi is the steal of the draft. Prove me wrong.

He's gonna start every game from now on, isn't he?

There were a decent number of BI/Zion pick and rolls tonight (almost all with Zion picking, I'd prefer the opposite). We've been begging for that for years, and have only received random pittances. They were forced into it tonight due to injuries and it worked well.

This has always been the recipe to success with them in the past and again tonight.

That we don’t see more of it has been maddening. There is a path where those two can coexist and play winning basketball, that it doesn’t happen more often falls at the feet of them as well as Willie

That must be it. I've seen enough this season to know that I don't want JRE to see the floor outside of garbage time.

There was that one time that he passed up a 3 to step into a long 2, and it seemed like BI was mad at himself for doing that and made a huge effort after that to look for opportunities for 3s.

Theis played the final 3-4 minutes of the 3rd. I don't think Green was planning to play Missi for 26 minutes tonight but he played so well he couldn't take him out.

The first half both Missi and Theis played 9 minutes. I think the initial plan was to play both Missi and Theis under 20 minutes tonight but Missi played so well they just continued to roll with him.

He should. I'm not sure if he is better than Theis *today*, but he's the future, and it's time to embrace it.

3 big things tonight

1. Only 6 turnovers. It sounds obvious, but it's so much easier when you don't make it harder on yourself.
2. Jose did a fantastic job of getting Zion and BI easy shots. Way too often, they get ignored after working hard for position or cutting back door.
3. Hawkins and Boston both did an excellent job of cutting off ball. It just makes things so much easier when everyone isn't standing 30 ft from the basket.

Yep. He took two of them right after that.

I think he took 2 not good 3s, but I wouldn’t complain about it too much b/c I like guys that shoot with confidence and every shot he took tonight he took with confidence.

The offense I hate from BI and Zion is the slow one on one offense, even though they can both score out of it.
Both of them are so much better when they are moving faster with the ball. If the ball gets whipped around and they can penetrate off that they are so much more successful as opposed to walking their man down or back to the basket. Unless it’s a serious size mismatch I don’t want to see the slow one on one.

Theis was playing hurt and hobbling on the court. He gave us what he could. Whatiknowsofar is right that, without Theis's injury, there no way that Theis plays only 13 minutes and JRE plays almost 9.

Missi was such a great pick. I loved it at the time, but this is way beyond what I hoped for.

Bro this is beyond what anyone had hoped for for Missi in year 1

shite it might be beyond what Missi hoped for himself

Didn’t he start playing basketball like 4 years ago or something????

Everyone is going to remember the block and the poster, but this was the most impressive play to me:

He's only played 3 years of organized basketball. He played one year at a prep school on the East Coast, and then he played one year at a prep school on the West Coast, and then one year at Baylor.

In Cameroon, I believe he only played pickup stuff.

At a minimum he’s going to start until Trey and Herb are back I would think

Once you have those guys I could easily see is going with a

Jose
Herb
Zion
Ingram
Trey

Lineup until DJM gets back

Idk if you move CJ back into starting or not. Knowing Willie he probably will though

Eventually I want the starters to be

DJM
Herb
Zion
Ingram
Trey

But we will see

That’s a highly highly skilled move. The footwork, the strong pump followed by the strong finish. All with like 2 seconds on the shot clock. Yeah that dude is a bonafide stud.

Trey won't be starting right off the bat like that and he'll probably start the season off with minute restrictions for the first month at the minimum. Missi starting is the best scenario going into the new year.
