Seriously though. Adebayo behind Lopez is crazy not just because he is better but he is literally the perfect fit for us.
Bam would obviously be a very good pickup for the Pels over JV...Lopez would just be better, for our present roster. As for best overall defensive player, a decent argument can be made for either side...and this will be reflected in the final voting for NBA All-Defensive Team this year...although I will add that Lopez is definitely the better rim protector, a key area where we need improvement. They are both excellent vs the PnR.
Now...as to "offense" and "fitting" with our current roster & especially Zion...it's not even close. BAM CAN'T SHOOT...LOPEZ CAN. Check the 3-pt%s...Bam is currently shooting 10% for this year and 13% for his career. Lopez is shooting 36.9% this year and takes half his shots from 3-pt range. Only down side to Lopez is age...but I think he has a few more yrs in him...and is a bargain at what he is being paid. He'd be perfect for us for at least a coupla years...maybe more.

nope. the biggest issue is that he is a key piece to a championship team that is in the mix again and when their best guys are healthy they can gsweep a series on you. why do they move Lopez? it looks like health is all they need to at least compete with the other contenders.
lopez is not available.
that is reason 1 why its not happening.

Yep...that's definitely a problem...for this year. I was just trying to say he would be the best "fit" of all the "5s" that might be out there...in the near future. I'm assuming he will be a FA after this year & will want & deserve a nice raise. Only referenced this year & Lopez to show how much I think he would help the Pels. Wouldn't mind seeing the Pels show a bit of interest in him...before next year. I just don't see a "5" out there at the moment...that could move the needle enough for us, this year...unless we overpay something fierce.

What are you envisioning the asking price for him?
