Ive been on the have to draft a guard train for awhile, but reading these reports on Bender are making my eyes light up. I know he projects as a stretch 4, but it seems like a situation where we would have to make it work. If Dunn is not there, I think I have Bender over Hield and Murray at this time. Hiw would yall feel if we take him here?

He's going to be a star. Not sure if he's right for us.

If he's going to be a star then he's definitely right for us. We need those

Too much value to pass up imo. You can do a lot worse at 6.

You only take him if Hield, Murray. Dunn, and Brown are gone. Bender just doesn't impress me. And he obviously isn't impressing teams in the top 5 of the lottery. He averaged 4.8 ppg against 5'5 kindergarteners. NO THANKS

IDK.

I REALLY like Hield and am solid on Dunn and Murray but I would be borderline excited if Bender fell to us.

I know the draft is littered with the corpses of failed Europe bigs that get hyped up every year but Bender looks special. And I think coming in next to a guy like AD who can show him the ropes of growing your game as a big man, our good shooting coaches and Gentry to help polish his already solid passing skills would be a good fit.

I would agree if Monty was still our coach, but we need offense. Gentry's system requires 3 point shooters. Hield or Murray fit the bill for this. And we don't have a shooting guard on top of it all. So under our current circumstances of our system and who our coach is, we need to draft either Hield or Murray. Very simple

I think they may take him if all 3 of the guards are gone. If it gets to that point I'd much rather Bender than Brown. I think he could log significant minutes next to AD down the line with his size and versatility. Definitely a bit of a project, but Brown is really no different in that regard, and probably even more so given the lack of skill he has shown so far.

Bender is a year younger and played in a professional league against grown men. His shooting looks passable for a guy of his size and he would immediately be one of the better passers on the team (not that that is saying much on this team). He is skinny and not rebounder but brings enough tools to build on that I think he could become a rotation player sooner rather than later. Brown brings an NBA-ready body with zero NBA skills attached. Those types of guys tend to scare me off.

If I'm ranking the main guys we've been talking about I go: Dunn>Bender/Murray(toss up here)>Hield>Brown. I'm pretty sure the team will have the 3 guards ranked first, which could result in the decision above. Hopefully they emphasize talent over need.
