I wouldn't say scared of them but I do think he doesn't want to hurt feelings.

I'm not sure it's this. As a former player I'm sure he's aware of things like if he sends Temple to the bench he may never play ball regularly again and is essentially ending his career. But Willie also knows he's the coach so I can't imagine him choosing GT's feelings over his responsibility to the team.

I think it really is about lack of trust. When the team is playing well it is working well as a unit, "moving on a string." He doesn't want to play players that break the string.

Monty frustrated us too and he ended up being a good coach. Maybe we just need patience. But the Temple stuff is very frustrating

He reminds me a lot of early Monty on the sidelines. At times he looks clueless and lost and relies very heavily on his assistants. Monty did the same. Monty's rotations frustrated the hell out of people. Maybe in time, he will get there just as Monty did.

I'm not out on Willie, not at all, but at this point in his career, he has not shown much aptitude for how to use his rosters and in-game

It's his first year as a head coach.

We ran basically an 8 man rotation despite all the foul trouble and gave Temple, who has been absolutely abysmal for basically all season, 20 of those minutes. There is simply no

There were people on here who said giving garrett temple 5 mil a year for 3 years was a good move.

Why didn't they spend that money elsewhere?

I'm all in on WG 100% ... Team is heading in the right direction despite the past 5 games. They play hard, genuinely seem to like playing together, and are developing an identity. Can WG improve... sure, but the foundation is being built and he's a 1st. year HC. It's frustrating as fans that we have had two years of missteps but the ship is being righted.

The next step is to play solid ball and finish the season on a positive note. We'll also have season-to-season continuity for the first time with this group. I trust that in the exit interviews players will know what they need to work on specifically for this team (something that was woefully neglected the past two years).

Gotta love his big brained ideology of turning Ingram into a mid range jump shooter

Tell me what Ingram was before.

There is nothing he could have done that would have impressed you more or instilled more confidence?

Absolutely, but perfection is not a requirement for me to believe that we got the right guy.

As much grief as Willie has gotten for clinging to Temple and freezing out Trey, possibly for dumb reasons, he has shown more willingness to experiment and change things than any previous Pels coaches.

- Connects with players
- Adapts
- Core philosophy of making the simple play

That's a pretty good foundation for a coach.

If Griffen let's Willie hang himself and fires him as a result, that'll be the end of Griffen too. Griffen needs him to succeed, because 4 coaches in 4 years means Zion is a gone pecan!
