There’s 5 pairs for 45 bucks, then a very steep incline in prices.

Not only has no team ever rallied from a 3-0 deficit, eight of the 10 teams to go down 3-0 and play Game 4 on the road have gotten swept. So Game 3 is basically a must-win for Portland, which should make it highly watchable.

pels appear to have broken the blazers:
quote:

The futility went beyond the 17-point final margin...that score was actually far closer than most of the game had been. An 0-3 deficit in the series adds to the shock, but cannot fully summarize it. The powerlessness of the Blazers—an deep-seeded inability to stop New Orleans or generate anything for themselves—made this game memorable. It wasn’t just a matter of bad basketball. Between flat-footed defense, lack of jumping, getting beaten down the floor, allowing wide-open lanes, and committing unforced turnovers, this was barely basketball at all. The Pelicans hit the Blazers hard, but they found themselves swinging against a team that showed all the signs of having given up...not just on the game or the series, but on each other. The Blazers needed to come out and make a statement in Game 3. They did, but it wasn’t the one intended. This loss put the final period on a mounting string of evidence calling into question the long-term viability of this roster.

Yeah, I read that and got a little sad for them. Portland has now had 3 promising builds fall completely apart on them.

- There was the Brandon Roy/Greg Oden era that injury killed.
- Then just as the Aldridge/Lillard era was trending up, Wes Matthews tears his ACL and everyone but Lillard leaves the following year.
- CJ McCollum comes from out of nowhere and looks like it gives them a new foundation, but they made the playoffs when they should have tanked to draft more talent. Now the roster is incomplete and the Blazers might be better off starting over again.

You think CJ or Dame wanna come off the bench for us? We need to improve our bench since there is no one on the planet that can improve the starting lineup.

timing and luck is everything
There is an alternate universe where holiday Gordon and Evans do two years ago what they are doing now, pels hit on Murray and henson, and they sign an elite wing

Kushner touched on this a bit yesterday in the Locked On podcast. Basically the ball dominant guard roster the Blazers have is built for the regular season. When teams can gameplan and watch hours and hours of tape for a playoff opponent they can aim to take out the playmaking ability of the guards and force the role players to beat you. The problem is that the Blazers relied so heavily on scoring from the guards they struggle when the ball is out of their hands (they were 2nd to last in assists per game this season). Other guard dominant teams like the Raptors adjusted their roster and their scheme and have flourished - I think he said DeRozan is averaging the highest assist number of his career this season.
