The challenge imo is going to be maximizing lineups.

I want them to test what others have suggested, don't try to balance out the lineups by putting CJ in for Dyson. Politically they might have to do that to start and finish, but the rest of the game, lean into one direction and see how that works. Defensive lineups and offensive lineups. Yeah, the CJ/Hawk/Ryan/Trey/Zion lineup may not defend well, but you're either single covering Zion or leaving a very good 3 point shooter open. We've seen JV + shooters work well too.

People talk about CJ losing minutes, with what the strength of the team is, it really feels like the centers are who may lose the minutes as you just try to get your best 5 players on the court. JV has been solid this year but the backup centers are definitely at the back of the rotation in terms of the value they've brought.

CJ is huge at preventing other teams from going on the type of runs they’ve been doing to us lately. He’s also been very good so far this season, so having him back sooner than later would be very nice.

Hawkins and Daniels have made CJ trade bait. Players must be angry that CJ discussed a closed door meeting on his blog. That's poor leadership on his part.
CJ takes away minutes from Hawk and Dyson and place added work on BI and Z to be playmakers.
I think two teams would be interested including Minny(Conley) and the Bulls (Ball). The Minny or Mike Conley trade probably works bettrr given salary, role and fit for both teams.

What? Are you insinuating Hawk and Dyson do more playmaking than CJ?

I want CJ back asap too. I’m just saying I think we need to be careful not to over work him.

This is just a horrible take.

Zion talked about the meeting first, then Nance talked it about it, then CJ. Players talking about team meetings and how they worked out issues and became more cohesive is not new at all. Also, the fact that Zion has been sitting next to him on the bench and they’ve all been hugging after games kind of throws a wrench in your argument.

Also, CJ as trade bait??? Dude with CJ’s leadership and getting both BI and Zion to buy in, Griff would trade himself before he trades CJ.

Last 6 - 25%

What basically happened is he had back to back games shooting 2 of 5 and 3 of 6 in the 2 Dallas games, and that's what folks are remembering. But before that and after that he's been abysmal.

30% before those 2 games, 20% after.

He's just been bad all season.

Still a really small sample size. If he went 4-4 tonight, he'd be at 36%. He's always going to be up and down just like Herb. Herb going 3-4 last night drastically improved his percentage.
