Melli and Hayes aren't good enough to play next to Zion right now. It's unfortunate because Zion at the 5 against back ups should be an absolute mismatch.

Jaxon still needs time to develop.

How long is the "development leash" for a top 10 pick?

He still looks like Chieck Diallo out there.

This is his 66th career game as a 20 year old. Bigs need time to develop. Maybe he doesn’t ever figure it out like Stromile Swift but he has flashed amazing athleticism that I’m ok with being patient to see if he figures it out.

I disagree, Chieck Diallo could at least grab rebounds and hit a jumper.

Pretty long considering we knew he was a project and still invested an 8th in him.

He can do that with another team. I don’t see him ever being good enough to be patient with it. Plus he’s gonna be a trade piece for the disgruntled all star anyway

100% should have taken Rui

Or even Reddish.

Hopefully Gar will help us pick better players in the draft. He has a history of going for the tougher/high iq type players.

Why?

Nothing wrong with taking an unfinished product at 8.

Everything wrong with taking a longterm project at 8.

Especially when you already had on your roster what appears to be his ceiling (Wood).
