They've been saying it all summer. They're all in on it.

What else do you want them to say?

"We looked at trades to acquire a center for BI but were unsuccessful" " Now we will go small ball because we literally don't have another choice that makes sense".

Or

"We purposely didn't want to get a center and actually planned on keeping extra players we will have to trade this year"

We are in damage control mode.

We just actually have a good roster so its hard to read through the BS.

Did anyone go to the event today? What order were the players announced? Does BI still get announced after Zion or did they actually finally fix this and announce Zion last? Was CJ and Herb before Theiss? Was TMIII after any of the perceived starters?

They had all summer to add to the roster if they really wanted to add another big. They chose not to. You call it damage control but that was known even before free agency they planned on going small.

It's also true that Yves Missi could possibly become the starting center at some point this season. I don't in any way think that we can count on it, but the preseason was encouraging -- he's improved a lot since summer league.

Eventually, I hope. But Missi isn't anywhere near ready to start yet.

Missi’s youth and athleticism gets him minutes over Theis imo. You have to find out what you got.

And BI last? My goodness, they just don’t get it.

This statement is so wrong.

We had all summer with no cap space to add a minimum center that could help us at the starting position?

Almost like we couldn't afford any other center and signed Theis to a minimum deal....

The only way we upgrade at Center is through a trade. We all knew this last year and expected to get a Center in a BI trade.

Well... We somehow got Murray and still have BI because they didn't want him. Which by default means we don't get our center.

Damage control: action taken to limit the damaging effects of an accident or error.

We didn't trade BI, we don't have a center, everything else falls in place.

Cap space isn't the only way to acquire players. You're making excuses. If they wanted to add players, they could have easily added players. They've long said they wanted to go small and faster. They stick to it through the entire off-season.

I think missi will get the start at center. All they want him to do is rebound and block like a capela type role.

pg dm
sg jones
sf BI
pf zion
c missi

This team is DANGEROUS and was built to run through this league.

Murray-CJ-Herb-Ingram-Zion would be my guess.

It’s the best position less lineup we have until Trey returns and then CJ transitions into a role coming off the bench.

The Pelicans choose not to view Williamson as the team’s Center but the opposing teams will treat him as such.

As much as this philosophy change unleashes Zion on offense it will also unlock another level for FTADNO Herb Jones

I think this is the most versatile roster we’ve had in the Zion Era, the next chapter begins Wednesday night.

Bold Predictions
*Zion Averages 12 rebounds
*Murray Assists Leader
*Pelicans Top 3 in West
*Ingram Finals MVP
*Pelicans NBA Champions

Unfortunately, we might not see our "normal" starting lineup Wednesday, as Dejounte Murray is away from the team for personal reasons, and Willie Green said that he's "hopeful" that Murray would play Wednesday.

Im leaning this way too. Last time WG delayed announcing starters at beginning of the season rookie Herb was in the lineup.
