Why the frick would you want to turn into a middle of the pack western team instead of getting a top 3 and top 15 pick?

its very tough to get a center priced right in the NBA. if you are 6'11 or bigger and have any skill set whatsoever you are going to get PAID

Just look at Okafor, for example. Look at the insane amount of money guys like Dampier have made in their careers....the list goes on and on.

If Kaman is playing for a contract, he might have a great year and then he will be expensive as hell to bring back IMO.

Being 5 or 6 in the West is not really "middle of the pack", especially when you factor in the youth element of this team combined with already having the Minn lottery pick.

I'm saying if this team is truly good enough right now, as is, to be 5 or 6 in the West, then that is MUCH better than being one of the bottom 3 teams in the entire NBA right now.

And newsflash, we would not be "turning into a middle of the pack western team", that is exactly where this team was BEFORE the trade. Now, we just might be better than middle of the pack plus we already have a lottery pick that most expect to be top 5. As a die hard hornet fan, I'm very excited about this prospect. Sure it might be a pipe dream that this team is actually any good right now, but I would much prefer that over being horrible.

Let's see, we can either have one of the worst teams in the entire NBA and have to add multiple pieces....OR, we could be a playoff team with solid players built around the best young SG in the league WITH a top 5 lottery pick already in our pocket. I'll take the latter please.

Id like for Kaman to be involved in a trade for granger. Indy having Paul george has no use for Danny boy now.

Kwame Brown and Dalembert both just got $7 million deals. They are much less skilled than Kaman. I'd expect him to get at least $10 per if not keep or increase his current $12 per.

The only way I see making the playoffs this year being a good thing long term is if the new owner is willing to pay the luxury tax starting next year AND the Timberwolves pick ends up being top 3. If you don't have both of those the team is better served by 2 top 10 picks.

We still have to resign Gordon, showing him that we are dedicated to winning goes a long way in doing that. You think he wants to sit around while the team wins 15 games.

Now we aren't better than middle of the pack. Outside of eg our starting 5 is shite and we have little depth on the bench. We would be fricked in the playoffs. I'd rather load up on talent in the best draft class since 03

What about filling up the Arena for that new owner? And just overall excitement in the city, esp following the loss of CP3?
That might help sway an owner to pay the luxury tax.

They can just play together like they have done the 1st two preseason games.

It does, people will most definitely sit in lower bowl for 15 dollars rather than 45

I think you are understating Kamen, Ariza and Landry tremendously. Not to mention Aminu (one of those top 10 picks everyone is so excited about next year).
Having EG, Ariza, Kamen and Landry in your starting 5 is not shite. Granted, we need another stud along with EG (at PG, SF or PF), which would move one of the other guys to the bench and bolster the depth. But to say the roster is basically shite besides EG is flat out wrong.

We may get to stop caring about what Gordon thinks by January 25th. He's going to get too much money offered to him to leave it on the table unless he absolutely hates it here.

As long as Demps gets good value for trades and appears to have a plan I'm sure he'll be fine. Demps is already being credited by some hornetards as having the Ayon move planned out when he sold the 2nd rounder for cash. If Bower had earned that kind of credibility maybe CP3 would still be here.

Ticket sales don't seem to be the problem - 10k season tickets sold ,right?
Now it's just making sure they keep coming.

Ive been to plenty of Hornets games through the years, attendance is definitely better when we are winning. Also those 15 dollar tickets isnt helping paid attendance, thats just season ticket holders selling their tickets on stub hub because they dont want to go to the games because we suck.

I'm
Not saying losing is better for ticket sales then winning.

Just that losing doesn't hurt it as much because of low ticket prices.

One of the rumors is that the new owner killed the Lakers deal that would have made the Hornets a definite 4-8 seed. If true then the new owner is interested in rebuilding.

I think that deal was killed because of high payroll and no future consideration.
Stern got best of all worlds with his Clippers deal. Lower payroll, future consideration AND we might still be pretty competitive this year.
Stern = league's best owner, President and GM.
