re: Watching Dallas go up 2-0 just reminds me of the inconsistency of the Pels..

I'm still shocked Minnesota best Denver.
I think whoever comes out the west is beating
They just caught them at the right time. I think Denver wasn't ready and Minnesota was playing with confidence.
A couple of denver's guys went Mia. The Minnesota team that played Denver and the one that has played dallas thus far have been different.

This is why "We won 49 games but just had bad luck because 49 wins is usually a 3 seed" talk is silly.
No one watching the Pels should think, even if healthy, we'd do anything other than be an easy out for the 4 West teams in the 2nd round. We would have had zero chance against any of those teams.
I agree, but weren't you the guy always saying with a healthy zion that the pels were a top seed.
I remember you repeating that over and over. I don't remember you saying the pels couldn't compete.

Its more matchups. The way Minnesota is built with their 2 bigs gives Denver issues. The problem is Minnesota isn’t built to handle and defend two dynamic guards like Luka and Kyrie in Dallas.

To be fair his coaching in the playoffs especially how hes rotated Gafford and
Lively have been excellent. Thats not just me many people have credited that Kidd has coached really well this postseason.
You have to admit it's pretty easy to rotate gafford and lively.
The way they built that team on the run makes t easy on kidd. Derrick Jones Jr is kinda their Herb Jones.
Pels could've used Gafford and pj williams.

You think Kidd didn’t improve at all and its ONLY the players?? You think coaches don’t control rotations, understand game management, drawing up plays, have any say in trading for players they want or give heavy minutes at center to a rookie??? (Imagine that a coach who understands proper rotations and trusts a talented rookie)
Of course they do. But it's much, much easier when the pieces actually fit. He also has Luka and Kylie handling the ball every possession. They are going to get you into a good shot most plays.
Luka does some wild shite sometimes but a lot of times they go in. I think kidd is an alright coach. I put it more on the players than kidd.

For sure. Completely agree. But kudos to Kidd in not fricking up the talent he was given. My point was I don’t think Willie would have maximized his roster like Kidd has. Sometimes you just got to get out of your own way if your a head coach.

I've always said our best chance to ever compete is with Zion so we shouldn't trade him, though the odds that he's healthy, brought in, and a #1 on a title team are slim...that's my argument.
Maybe I was saying that shite in year 2 when he went 27ppg on 60% shooting at 20 years old lol.
But no, I don't think Zion will ever be a #1 on a title team, but I do think that's our best shot to win, the small chance that he is. Main point being, the slim chance that he proves me wrong is a higher % chance that we go out and trade for or get a legit #1 in free agency.

Zion basically works harder to get to 25 points than any other player has to. I'd bet that's part of the reason he keeps getting hurt.
The ability to make jumpers gives you easy chances to get buckets so you can conserve energy while still producing.
It's the reason why Zion rarely ever puts up big numbers while others can do it consistently. His career high is, what, 42? And he's only hit 40 maybe twice and rarely hits 35+.
Get a decent jumper and all the above numbers can jump up by 6 or so points consistently.
Agree with all of this and have been saying it since year one of zion.
I remember people shitting on me for saying zion needs to add a 15/17 footer to his arsenal. He should've been adding one thing each off-season.
We now know he was lazy as fuch and not doing shite in the off-season.
The real question is do any of us believe he will now add a.jumper. I think it can still be done in the next couple of yrs. He has a decent stroke.
Needs a coach that tells him he needs him to come back with a solid jumper.
I still think you can win a chip with zion as your 1 but the pieces would have to fit right. That's really most championship teams though.
