Van Gundy was a weak choice.

Never been a fan. It seems Zion has peaked and just not seeing the development of several players I anticipated coming into this season. Just a vent.

No way Zion peaked. Dude is only 20. You can see glimpses of today’s game where he passes out to the arc when getting doubles in the paint. Crazy how you guys give up on young players.

I am Strongly questioning the “defend the paint and make them shoot threes” defense

It’s not working

Teams just drain 3 because it’s 2021 and that’s the NBA

I think it was a safe choice, a lot like the Gentry hire. Older coach with a solid reputation around the league. Nothing revolutionary, as people over sold his concepts. But everybody was ready for someone new.

It is hard to judge anything off this season and this start with how condensed and out of the ordinary everything is. Personally I just don't believe NBA coaches matter that much and struggle to blame them or give them too much praise..

I agree van Gundy was a weak hire. You’re wrong about Zion though, that’s just a really stupid comment.

Van Grundy is just part of theNBA permanent Coach rotation carousel. Don’t worry...when this one gets canned in 2 or 3 years, the Pels will get another retread.

I’m not that low on SVG since I don’t think any coach would be able to overcome some of the obstacles we have with the way this season is structured(and the roster we have to use), but I do still keep an eye on Will Weaver out in Houston. Wouldn’t have been upset seeing him get a chance to lead this team.

To be honest ..SVG has not had a chance to pick his players he wants in his system yet. Give it time my dude.

I thought van gundy would be better.

I will give him some time to install some more offense but i haven't loved everything.

Don't love the assistants either

Still fine with Gundy because he’s going to continue to force the issue of working on improving on defense. We know BI can shoot. We know Zion can get to the rack at will. But if they don’t get better on defense this isn’t ever going anywhere.

You can’t say we can’t judge anything off this season. You can judge that this isn’t a good team that cannot shoot the ball

I don’t think SVG was ever a choice in hopes he’d bring us to a championship. Look at his past coaching trips. He isn’t at a team for longer than 5 years. I think he was strictly brought here to preach and demand fundamentals on defense and half court offensive sets. Things you need to be a championship team. This is an important 2-3 years of development for the young guys. SVG was a safe choice for helping improve the struggles these kids had last year.

Yep. He's peaked and already regressed. Playing like a broken 38 year old. That's our Zion
