He’ll come back in January if we are sucking, which is likely, just so he can prove he’s healthy so he can be traded in February before the deadline.

Am I being deluded?
There’s what, 8 weeks until tip off…. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was back for just after then.
2 more months of healing rehab and fitness… I just can’t see how it’s going to take another 3/4 months looking how he does now!

The concern isn't how his ability to do all the things he was able to do before the injury. The concern is going to be the imbalance of his calf muscle due to the injury and coming back early can cause another significant injury.
Kobe came back in 8 months? But he also fractured his leg a couple of games into the season on the same leg as his Achilles injury.

I would not rush hiim with our luck. Boston not rushing Tatum back .

Tatum and Haliburton were injured 3.5 months after Murray. Murray will return early in the season, where as those two are unlikely to play at all just based on the timing of the season when they could return at the earliest.

Joe Dumars will decide when he plays. Probably restricted minutes.

The NBA is the most elite league of athletes in the world. While incredible he looks to be able to do some different things on the practice court. I can’t imagine how that transfers to live NBA games.
Watching the NBA and realizing just how incredible every person on the team is compared to top tier college basketball/G-League is hard to grasp.
