It's confusing to some people, because "GM" used to always refer to the top decision-maker underneath the owner. Now, though that person almost always has the title of "President," and "GM" refers to the #2 person in the front office.

I kind of look at like when Jim got promoted to Co-Manager on The Office, and Michael was the "big picture" manager while Jim was in charge of "day to day"
