Oh Im 100% with you. He’s always been aggressive whenever he feels like they have an opening. The fact that he is going to be 75 in a month isn’t helping.

Our chances of leap frogging everyone in front of us to make the postseason are slim and we’ve got three vets on our squad that any contender would love. Are we sure their value is going to be higher in the summer?

1. I hope we dont trade Jrue this summer, but thats where we will get the most for him.
2. I hate the "JJ deserves better, trade him to a contender" talk. He is signed through next year. Yea his playoff streak will stop but who cares, it is what it is. This team will need him next year big time. Doing him a favor outlook is a dumb way to look at it, he is still valuable to this team. If we arent in playoff contention next year, sure, trade him, but it would be incredibly stupid to trade him right now or this offseason.

As @ChrisBHaynes reported, Andre Drummond is likely to remain a Piston, and it's looking similar for Derrick Rose and maybe Markieff Morris too. Detroit has set an asking price and isn't really moving off it. A lot can change in a few hours, but right now Pistons holding pat.

I don't understand why we're keeping Moore. He's a good player, solid contributor off the bench, expiring contract, and we have young players who need the minutes.

We should have been able to stack some value by trading him to a contending team imo.

The Leon Rose news is interesting. They are going the Pelinka route and it seems to be a trend for teams to hire Agents for the front office.

Leon Rose is one of the absolute big boys in basketball agent world. I have no idea how he will do, as the Knicks are a shitshow, but he's definitely got connections.

We don't know if we are or not. I'm sure Griffin is working the phones and trying.

But sometimes the right deal just doesn't come along. Most teams won't make a trade.

I would think he would have some value to a contender. He can shoot the 3 and has a reasonable contract.

I'm sure he would, but we may be getting offered crap back in return, or a simple salary dump and we aren't looking for that.

Who knows? Griff may be considering re-signing him this offseason anyway.

Right. This board always melts when we don't do something on the trade deadline, when in reality most teams won't do something. Sometimes deals just don't materialize, or teams don't offer us what we are looking for to accomplish our goals.

A deal would be really nice, and fun, but sometimes its better to just let contracts expire rather than take a deal just to take one.

I like Moore a lot. So re-signing alone doesn't upset me.

But

Jrue Holiday
JJ Redick
NAW
Moore
Hart
Kenrich
DiDi overseas

I agree, right now it does not look like we have to minutes to go around. However, I do not know what his vision is for next season and beyond. The logical thought is they are trying to trade him for an asset, but not sure what the plan is.

Celtics tried to make a deal for Christian Wood but the Pistons declined.

Griffin whiffed a little going with Kenrich instead of Christian.

I always felt like he chose okafor over wood. kenny hustle was our only true back up SF on the roster.

Yeah, that is certainly a better way to look at it. Makes sense.

At the time, it actually surprised me that we went out and got Melli instead of sticking with Wood.
