We blew it because we didn't draft anyone in the 2nd round? Lol.
Yeah, if we had a 1st round pick and traded it for money, we blew it. This means nothing.

I think MLE is something like 1.125mm or something like that. My point is, you couldn't even hire a veteran with that.
I guess maybe they're thinking that they'll wait and pick up some free agents

You have to think like an owner.
What will get them a return on investment? A 2nd round pick? frick no. But selling it will.
Will adding a low 1st round pick do it. frick no.
Why would they want the Hornets to get appreciably better? It does nothing for them but hurt their own team.
But if they stay ostensibly the same, value is static. But with a new CBA in favor of the owners, value goes up. Perhaps by a good amount.
That's all they care about.

i think this move screams the league made us sell the pick.

Seems like we just shat the bed to me

its doubtful anyone there would've helped us, 1 million dollars could

I know, It's just frustrating

2nd rounders are not worth much so it doesn't hurt us. We just stay the same.

And they want 10,000 season tickets on top of this? I'm a little pissed off right now. Maybe a lot pissed off.
It's a little like getting fricked in the arse and being told to like it. I can't even think of a positive out of this. I, the eternal optimist, am at a loss.
frickin' NBA...

We dont have an owner. That million is getting spread around the league

I wish I had a camera at the "I'm In" draft party. I bet there's some pissed off faces
They'd have been pretty stupid to show up in the 1st place since all we had was the 45th pick.

Second rounders don't even have guaranteed contracts, so what's the point of selling the pick aside from gaining 1M that the Hornets will never see?
Posted on 6/23/11 at 10:41 pm to tehchampion140
Same thing happened last year when we picked

to cut in half the amount of money the rest of the owners in the league would have had to pay when we acquired Landry for MT5.

The million dollar check for our "sold" pick says, "Pay to the order of: National Basketball Association"
