re: Thornwell getting waived

Because the Kings will probably ask for some value in return. Like actual, real value. If all we had to give them was like Melli and Gabriel and a 2nd we would have done it

That's fair. As ATL mentioned, Bjelica is too old to give up a 1st. Rumors are the Heat and Sixers are interested, but I can't see them giving up a first either, as I imagine both teams will at least sniff around for Beal. So we may have a shot if it's just a bunch of 2nd's but we don't really have a young player they would want. They need a another wing and we have nothing to offer there.

re: Thornwell getting waived
The Kings won 6 in a row and everyone was talking about them possibly making the playoffs, and now they've lost 7 in a row and look like bottom-feeders.

Unless things turn around for them soon, they'll be selling at the deadline.

re: Thornwell getting waived
They obviously cut him to maximize flexibility. A player can only sign 2 10 day contracts with a team before they're required to offer a full contract. This won't get them all the way to the trade deadline, but kicks the can down the road some.
