Maybe if they make the playoffs March 12 @ The Hive is the only game left with them.

I wouldn't be surprised if we moved Landry in another deal. We need someone that can knock down some shots from the perimeter. I like Landry as a player and I do believe he has more value on the market than Thornton. I think it's a good trade from a value standpoint... but one that doesn't fit a big need on our team.

Move Landry... make it a better deal.

I'd crap on myself if that happened. George is going to be there for a long time. Granger and Granger Lite on the same team... scary.

Pretty sure you can't trade someone immediately after you traded for them again.

Still...we can try to snag Paul George anyway.

There's been talks about Danilo being trade soon after he was acquired by the Nuggets... I believe it's different in the NBA.

You can trade them immediately... if you don't package them with another player.

A Landry-George swap would be about even on the money involved, meaning no other players on our side.

If Indiana were up for that this would have been a 3 way trade. A consistent post scorer off the bench will do wonders for our problematic 2nd unit. You guys are underestimating Landry's potential impact just because all you're focusing on is the bigger hole at SG.

That's so sad. I know I was as hard as anyone on the Thorntontard but I was really a big fan of Thornton. He was living the dream of being the hometown hero.

Referring to visiting as a King or possible offseason resign?

Nah. Likely the former.

MT5 was my favorite player on the team. Very Ginobli-like. I'll miss him.

Marcus with a few parting words. I think one thing that hasn't been mentioned enough is how professionally he handled this whole situation.

quote:

Now heading off to Sacramento where he says he'll have a good opportunity with the Kings, former New Orleans Hornets guard Marcus Thornton said Wednesday he'll miss the reaction he got from fans in New Orleans Arena when he did something special in a game.

"I'm a local guy and from the area, but Sacramento will be a good opportunity for me," Thornton said. "It is what it is. I'll just have to make the best of the opportunity now. The one thing I will miss are the fans. The fans are great. They were behind me every game. My family would always be there, but mostly the fans are who I'm going to miss. That's really going to be the hard part."

Thornton said he never had any issues with Hornets Coach Monty Williams despite his struggles to gain, and maintain, a spot in the team's rotation this year behind guards Willie Green and Marco Belinelli.

"We never had a problem," Thornton said. "But it really wasn't a defensive thing, because if you look at all my game, I never let anybody just kill me. I don't know what it was. But now I'm going to Sacramento. Those were his guys he brought in and you've got to respect that."

Thornton said he is eyeinghis return trip to New Orleans Arena with the Kings on March 12.

"I'm looking forward to it," Thornton said.
