Carl Landry for 4 years at 5.5 mil is a good deal, under the current CBA. I don't know what the new cap will be but I'd rather Landry at 5-6 than West at >10.

No doubt Landry's the only good player on that team who's not crazy.

I'd bank he's good friends with Thornton. Nothing more.

Is Andersen back in or the TP a day late with the wrong info per usual?

WOW. Just thought about it, but our competition for Landry was Indiana.

If you are the pacers how the frick do you not make sure you get Landry.

I don't know how much the rest of y'all pay attention to the NBA, but they are tearing it up right now and desperately need a junk 4. Exactly what Landry is. He gobbles up all the garbage and gets his points off broken plays.

DC, Hibbert, Granger and Landry would have been a really good young core of players. Not to mention Paul George who is a Rudy Gay clone.

Hate this trade mostly because I don't see Landry sticking around beyond this year. Can't see the team re-signing both him and West. (Landry will want more money than we'll give him and someone will pay him.)So we're ditching one of our few assets for a rental of a backup PF in all likelihood. I assumed Thornton was gone a couple weeks ago, but I feel like they could have got something much better than this.

PS: Carl Landry Def. Rebound Rate - 10.6%
Marcus Thornton Def. Rebound Rate - 17.1%

Landry is a PF. Great.

Yeah I was reading your reaction on the tiwtter updates on google. That was priceless.

Either way Thornton was going to be gone, so at least we help out our front court since none of our regular guys other than west and mek can get more than 3 rebounds.. I like the trade, hopefully there's another one coming, but I'm looking forward to the rest of this regular season and post season for the hornets

Meh, this was probably a long time coming. The only reason he stayed around this long was probably to see if we could have packaged him to try and get Carmelo.

The truth has been restated over and over. The likelihood of MT re-signing after this season was low, so why not make an effort to improve the team this year with an eye on longer term growth? I'm a LSU fan and loved that a home-town kid was on the team, but the disconnect between him and Monty was obvious and for all we know, Marcus wanted to get away and try for a new start somewhere else.

I hope the Hornets get better with this trade and can gain some momentum for the stretch run to the playoffs.
