Absolutely. AD playing like a massive pussy. Then again, I’m not suprised in the slightest.

Goes to show you that Boogie was the alpha on this team.

Boogie and Jrue's competitive nature is the only source of fight we have. Boogie is done so now we just have a bunch of betas.

It’s like most of them step on the court expecting to lose.

I think AD stopped with bringing any type of leadership skills once boogie came.

Anyone think Gentry will be fired during the all star break to try and spark this team.

I wish, but we don’t have the balls to do it

Finch is a good interim coach candidate, so I can see it happening. I wonder how many games they have to lose for it to happen.

Also, we're being a bit unfair to AD. I was ready to say similar stuff after 2 straight games of 15 or less where he didn't look like a star, but then I looked at his stats since Boogie went down.

25/17
23/13
43/10
38/9
15/11
14/8

So 2 average games followed by 2 above average games followed by 2 below average games. It all balances out. We can't expect him to average 35/15. Boogie going down makes the game harder for AD, not easier.

AD's talent is insane, but he doesn't have that dog mentality. Cousins isn't quite as talented with upside like Davis; but he has the dog mentality, and he's the best big man in the NBA. Gentry may have helped Davis offensively, but he hurt his development overall. When Jrue really wants to, he can take over a game by himself, but Gentry has set him up for failure. He has to guard guys twice his size on a nightly basis and defensively take over a game. He also has to come on the other end and carry the load offensively.Etwaun is hung out to dry because he guards 3's and he's smaller than Jrue. Dell has done a nice job of cleaning up his mistakes recently; but his biggest mistake was getting rid of Monty and hiring Gentry. I think Fizdale is the type of coach we need to get the best out of this team, either way Gentry has got to go now and not at the end of the season.

Sometimes he does have that dog mentality. What sucks is he has games where he doesn’t give a shite, too.

I didn't feel like he was this inconsistent with monty.

The pelicans outlook just keeps looking dreadful. A desperate gm. A hard headed coach. An injured star. A tired superstar.

I keep feeling like this team didn't want to run and gun, but the head coach refuses to slow down the pace. Then when cousins goes down with an overuse injury, everyone else got scared to push themselves fearing injury as well

This team is significantly worse than it was without Boogie and if MM's info is correct about Gentry unhappy...well if you're getting 60%-70% of Uncle Al...

Even with all of that though, I think people are overreacting to what will end up being a small sample size. AD won't mail it in every night like it showed in his stats. 4 out of 6 games being average AD or better. If they can sync that up with the time the other guys give their best games, you can actually start winning. What really sucks are games like the loss to the Jazz where Jrue/Rondo/Clark/Moore all score well but AD and Niko are no shows.

Lose tonight and you kiss the playoffs goodbye imho. The season is reaching the part where you dig and win games you should and make it or lose games you shouldn't and become a 9th seed.
