Sure, why not? An average bench player makes more money in 1 year than a lot of people make in their lifetime. A 15-20% pay cut would hardly even affect a player's lifestyle. Even after a pay cut, you aren't going to see players hanging out at a food bank. Their lifestyle would still be extremely comfortable and their income would still be way above most people. I mean, how much money do you need to live well?
None of what you said are any of those reasons.
