Nevermind, I don't think this sent us over the cap.
I have to check to make sure.
No games necessary.
Room and vet exceptions, then more room when Miller is bought out.
Sorry, occupied.

My feelings I just texted a buddy:
Hornets now can build around two elite talents (Gordon/Davis). You also have a young PG in Rivers that could develope into a nice score first PG. Ryan Anderson is a nice complimentary piece. They still have young guys with promise as well - Aminu, Henry, Miller, J Smith. Will have enough cap space to give someone a max contract next summer. Today is the start of big things.

Rivers = Parker/Westbrook
Gordon = Wade
Davis = Duncan/Garnet
Factor in Ryno, J Smoove, etc., and only one conclusion can come of this...
LEAGUE = frickED

4 big time building blocks with a ton of money left to spend next summer. Sign some scrub center to a one deal and move on. I dont want to bring anybody else in on a multi year deal.

So did we need the salary we got from trading Jack for this signing? Forgive me if I'm still pretty confused about that one.

Bitching again... and yes we did, you don't have to understand why. Just know we did it and you should get over it

No, we can go over the cap to sign our own players

Lets not get our hopes up.
He is a talent no doubt, but converting him into a PG will be quite a project. I'm excited to see him play tomorrow.

If anything, worst case scenario he's a solid back up PG and SG off the bench

It was clearly something that didn't pan out in hindsight.
Jack would have easily been worth a legit pick or two - especially during the season when a solid team loses their veteran starting PG.

Moves haven't been completely made, off-season isn't over. I think you should re-read the quote again yourself

As it stands today?
PG Vazquez/Rivers/Dyson
- Rivers moves into starting role by year's end
- Vazquez is a good, young backup PG with size
SG Gordon/Henry
- Gordon an elite level talent calling New Orleans home the next four years
- Henry has an NBA body, pedigree, and a top pick. Hopefully he develops into a decent backup off the bench
SF Aminu/Miller
- Aminu won't be counted on to score, rather his defense and rebounding will be key. Such a great athlete.
- Miller could be a steal in the 2nd
PF Anderson/Smith/Thomas
- Anderson should be a good 16/7 guy at the very least. Nice scoring presence next to a defensive minded Davis
- Smith top backup at both PF/C
C Davis/Smith
- Davis, enough said
I still think we bring in a post up big man and wing scorer for the bench.
