Look I like both DeAndre Hunter & Jarrett Culver. Go back and read my posts, I’ve liked both for a while

However Griff has gone on record saying we cannot & will not go full rebuild. We have a treasure trove of picks, two 21 year olds, 24 year old Josh Hart, and 18 year old Zion Williamson. I don’t think a team full of young guys is a healthy roster structure. So I think #4 will be used on a guy 23-27 years old

That only happens if the right guy is available. We won’t make a trade for the sake of making a trade. If we have to stay put and make a pick, we’ll do it. Simple as that.

I agree. We won’t do it just to do it. But that’s what we are looking for

Strike 1. Small Guard with poor defense.
Strike 2. Injury concerns
Strike 3. Rich Paul

I like Garlands twitch and 3 point shooting ability, but he isn't worth pick 4.

Garland or Culver is the pick. If we move back a few spots and only White, Reddish and Hunter is there, you don't take Hunter. He's not a top 10 talent in this draft. Maybe if we trade with the Hawks and get #10. However he won't be there because some stupid team will take him before that.

So you watched the final four including the championship game and came away more impressed with Culver than Hunter? What was it about Culver that impressed you more?

The whole season, not just one game

His rebounding, steals, and blocks numbers are all low for an elite defender. He shot well from the perimeter, but he has a slow two motion shot. He won’t provide much gravity because of that. He is limited in terms of shot creation also.

You hope he turns out like Otto Porter, but by the time he gets there he is overpaid in the blink of an eye.

I like Hunter, but I don't think he's 4th pick good. He has some pretty major flaws. I would be fine taking him at 6-8.

He's a good outside shooter, but his release and overall shot mechanics limit how much of a threat he can be. He doesn't provide much off the dribble. Struggles at the rim. Etc

No half measures like trading the 4 pick for a young vet like Beal or something.

You’re praying the 4 becomes a player close to Beal’s level. Beal isn’t even 26 yet. If by some miracle you can get him for the 4 and something else I think you have to take that chance. Full rebuilds fail all the time. We could do a lot worse than getting a 25 year old all star caliber wing.
