I appreciate the fact that he knows he doesn't do well with the draft so he trades our picks for well established players like Jrue Niko and Boogie

Let’s give a shoutout to Bobby Portis while we’re at it.
Without him breaking Niko’s face, Niko wouldn’t have forced his way out of Chicago.

I wouldn’t say he doesn’t do well in the draft.
He’s made three first round decisions:
Davis, no brainer
Austin rivers, decent role player
Buddy Hield, role player with a decent amount of potential
That’s not too bad. GMs have done far worse, like the hornets drafting Zeller, Kaminsky, and Noah Vonleh. They haven’t really hit on any lotto picks except Walker and the jury is still out on Monk.

Diallo looks like a pretty solid pick ATM
He still has lots to work on but he gave the team good production this year when it was badly needed.
Darius has turned into a solid 3 point specialist which is fine for the 46th pick
Jackson we'll see

Giving Solomon Hill all that money is the only bad move he's made since Danny Ferry came on in an official capacity. I'm not giving credit for these moves to Ferry, but I've thought Demps needed a senior advisor that knows basketball since he got hired. Sometimes you just need someone you trust to tell you to stick to your guns and let the other guy blink first.

That’s true, I forgot to look at 2nd rounders.
I wonder how Frank Jackson is doing with injury. What’s the ceiling with him?

I think I saw some comparisons to a Mike Bibby type as his ceiling. The only thing I've seen of him is his highlight reel from Duke, it was all catch and shoot 3s or driving to the rim and finishing. He looks like he'd fit in with what the Pels want to do on offense really well.

and right now, thats the barrier to adding a player in the offseason. opportunity cost...
