I have never understood people backing up Ariza on the board. He is the worst offensive player on the team. He plays the 2nd most minutes and is the 5th leading scorer. His reputation as a stopper is totally exaggerated. I can't remember the last time he locked down a major star. Just a weak link (like Okafor)..

Aminu and Lance Thomas say hello.

He'll never win an All Star game MVP at this rate!

Any sort of statistical, or even anecdotal, evidence to support this statement?

Ariza is a 8 year vet that has been a starter for the better part of 4 seasons. He makes twice as much as Aminu and Thomas put together.

Nor will he ever attend one, unless he buys a ticket.

Great part about this statement is I can turn it right back at you.

I'm pretty sure you don't go without, whatever you normally sip on.

Ariza is a terrible shooter...I love his defense, but i wouldn't be surprised if the team wants to move on

you do realize how hard it is to shut down some of the best players in the league when the rest of the team around you is absolute rubbish, right?

It must be a nice gig to be a defensive specialist then..

that's the role he's played the past few years he's been here. didn't hear anyone complain much about his defensive play when we were good.

This is only his 2nd year here. He was a liability last year and hasn't done anything major this year.

Was that a bird? Something flew by.

He's a key to the team defense. As long as you build your team appropriately his lack of offense is fine. For instance, if they brought Kaman back and drafted TRob, Ariza would be the #5 option on offense. At that point him being an offensive liability is minimized and you can judge his contribution to the team primarily by his defense.
