re: Rockets target Anderson. Pelicans have NOT shown interest in Omer Asik.

Saying it doesn't make it true. Ryno has put himself in very rare air with his shooting at volume. Asik provides absolutely nothing that rare. He is a defensive only 5. Don't overrate that.
Only 7 players average a Double-Double a night and Asik is one of those guys.

Houston also had dogshit at PF. Asik was it down low.
He's a fine player. We need Ryno more. And for more than just what's on the court.

He did it for one fricking season, man. One. He is being completely overvalued on this board. I think he is good defensively, but losing Anderson could mess us up offensively.
It becomes a wash to me. And in this case, I stick with a core guy who WANTS TO BE HERE, has played at a high consistent level for more than just one season, and is younger.

I'm with the I don't want to lose anderson crowd
But this would give us a nice presence in the paint two solid defenders low with good offense on the perimeter. It may work out well
Line up could look like this
5 Asik
4 Davis
3 ? (Maybe 3 guard starting lineup which would put Gordon here I guess)
2 Gordon (Evans or holiday with 3 guards)
1 Evans or Holiday
So other than the 3 spot that seems like a solid young lineup

If I wake up and find out we traded Anderson for one of the most overrated players in the NBA I am going to lose it.

So let's assume he will be an all star I guess...

Even though It fills a need I don't like this

He averaged a double-double in 30 MPG. That's pretty freaking good.

Is there a better center available? What do you suggest the Pelicans do to fill that hole? You'll be bitching along with the rest of us this season when we are getting schooled in the paint all season long.

He's also a career 50% free throw shooter. It's tough to have guys like that on the court during crunch time.
Keep Anderson or trading for Asik I can go either way on. If the Rockets included Motiejunas, I'd think Dell would be crazy not to take that.

x infinity
Davis will get plenty minutes at 5, so will Smith. We need a guy to play 20 minutes and rebound. We obviously want to get out and run more. Asik doesn't fit.
We need Ryno.

did you happen to miss houston games last year?

And you'll be bitching when we can't score.
A stretch 4 like Ryno brings a unique and diverse skillset to offense.

Even though he can't be on the court with AD. Really?
I mean we were awful last year when those guys were on the court together. Dell Monty knows that. This move would be outstanding for this team.
