interesting tidbit that's impacting the Timberwolves later in the week
the Spurs are not playing their final home games of the season at "home"
their games tonight vs. Portland and Saturday vs. the T-Wolves are being played in Austin at the Longhorns home arena

here's the Knicks injury report for our game tomorrow night
quote:
On the Knicks side, RJ Barrett (illness) is listed as questionable. Jalen Brunson (right hand injury maintenance), DaQuan Jeffries (right calf strain), Julius Randle (left ankle sprain) and Duane Washington Jr. (bilateral hip soreness) are all listed as out.

I just really don’t want to have to play the lakers in La as the 8. They’ve had our number this year
would just mean we would then host 1 of Minny, OKC, Dallas, or Utah in a win & in, lose & out game
if we're in that situation... I would prefer playing Oklahoma City but I figure we'd end up playing Minnesota in that case
ETA: I should note... OKC is at Utah right now and if Utah loses this game... they are mathematically eliminated from all postseason consideration... so that would be 1 less team to worry about
However... a Jazz win drops the Thunder out of the play-in and moves the Mavs into the 10-seed at the end of the night

with less than 6:00 left in the 4th... OKC leads Utah by 16
might be time to officially say bye-bye to the Jazz

Denver starting a bunch of scrubs. Phoenix will win tonight to clinch and rest against both LA teams.
only a 1 point game at halftime
maybe the Denver scrubs can pull it out for us

I dunno. I kinda think that they need to get some playing time as a group.

wait... the East is wild
the Heat won their division but are currently the 7 seed and in a play-in spot

Good effort by the scrubs but still no dice.

Even if they did want more time to gel, they would't play their starters on a b2b road game after they just clinched.

so the final play-in spot in the West will come down to...
- Can the Mavs beat a Bulls team that is... as of this moment... locked into the 10-seed in the East and prepping for a play-in game against either Toronto or Atlanta
- If the Mavs do beat the Bulls... it'll come down to Sunday when the Mavs host a ready to go fishin' San Antonio team while the Thunder host a Grizzlies team prepping for the 1st round as the likely already clinched 2-seed in the West
- If Dallas loses either game... the Thunder will be locked into the 10-seed
- If the Thunder win Sunday vs. Memphis... they're the 10-seed
- If Dallas wins both and the Thunder lose to the Grizzlies... the Mavericks are the 10-seed

Suns lock themselves into the West's 4-seed with a 119-115 win over Denver's B-Team... making our hopes for a top-6 seed even tougher
Phoenix is at the Lakers tomorrow, host Clippers Sunday

the Kings can still steal the West 2-seed from the Grizz... though not a good chance... but still a chance
If Memphis loses both of their remaining games (@ MIL, @ OKC) and Sacramento wins both of their remaining games (vs. GSW, @ DEN)... the Kings hold the tiebreaker over Memphis and would move up to the 2-seed
season series between Memphis & Sacramento is tied 2-2
Kings hold a better in-conference record (would be 34-18 in this win-out scenario) over the Grizzlies (currently 30-21)

Wouldn’t doubt it suns rest their starters tomorrow against the lakers

Sac just listed basically every decent player on their team as questionable for the Golden State game, so I do not think he will get any help there.

I wouldn’t either, but they didn’t need to play last night and they did, and they looked kinda shitty all night and Monty wasn’t happy with the way they played against scrubs. They are trying to get as much time together as possible before the playoffs start I think.
Just trying to be optimistic that they’ll play, but if Sac doesn’t beat GSW then it’s a moot point.
I don’t care if we are 7 or 8. I want to be 6th.
