I agree, Jester. With all you say. Free agents will take public perception into account, they just will. And that sucks. As far as the name goes, it just doesn't rolllll off the tongue lol..all the other "lame" sports names in that other thread kinda do..Los Angeles lakers, Chicago cubs, etc. I'm hoping it grows on everyone though. Real fast.

We're going to be re-named the Pelicans next season. Most people mad. Some people are good with it. Droman is fighting for the good cause. Jester on the other side. Good battle. Whats ur vote? like or dislike?

Yes, and playing for a team with national appeal increases your visibility, thus you get larger endorsement opportunities, ie money.

I would say that has a lot more to do with the market, rather than the national appeal of the team.

1) Market
2) money
3) winning.

I like it. Brass, Krewe and Voodoo were higher up on my list but Pelicans isn't bad at all
Though I'll be waiting to see logo/color scheme/uniforms before I make a full decision (as should everyone)
