Yeah no NBA coach will take the ball of a superstar’s hands and go tell their second year guy who’s not even a star on the team to go win it. I love Dyson but the wolves defense was on high alert. They would just made Dyson turnover the ball. Crunch time is always different. They’re one of the best defenses in the league.

The Pelicans can be a top four seed if fully healthy. They are never fully healthy so I think .500 ball is about what we expect. I’m hoping we can have a fully healthy roster for at least a quarter of the season or more and maybe squeeze into a top five seed.

The fact that they hung with the TWolves and really kept Anthony Edwards in check on the second night of a back to back is really exciting to me. I think a playoff series against the TWolves would be a blast to watch.

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion on this board, but as long as we’re a top 6 seed and healthy I will be happy

I couldn’t care less about being a top seed just avoid the play in, get to a series, and be healthy

If we manage to do that I like our odds against anyone

That’s exactly how I feel. Again if any fan has any sense of basketball and perspective you would be happy how this team has played in the last 3 games against three of the best teams in west while missing Zion, CJ, Jose and Trey.

You have to be top 6 to avoid play-in to be clear.

To avoid the play in, they need to be a top 6 seed. They're going to have to win consistently to avoid the play in.

6 seed last year was 44-38

I mean yea it’s above .500 but it’s not like an insanely high bar

I just love how this team is playing hard, competitive and together. This team looks so much better than the team that started 3-0. Almost like that 5 game win streak woke them up and they started competing on another level.

The West is a lot stronger this year than it was last year.

I don’t know man we say that but we just went 2-1 against the top of the west and we weren’t remotely healthy. I’m not saying you’re not right but maybe its not as strong as we thought.

I just can't wait to see Trey back dude fixes alot of the offensive problems that pop up sometimes. I think Trey return can have a Herb like impact on the offense.

We're 2-4 against the top 3 seed. 1-3 against the top 2.

I was just referring to the past 3 games. I’ll say this again this team is playing at a much different energy and urgency after that 5 game losing streak.

Couldn’t catch the game tonight but wow 4 of our starters had 6, 5, 4 and 4 fouls. Was that legit?

We were guarding legit centers with Herb and Dyson.

Yeah, I think we’re surprisingly deep.

Trey has potential to be that back up 4 we desperately need defensively. If he can show that side of the game, then we may be set truthfully. But that’s a big ask.

If he can learn to rebound better that would really help us.

He’s shown some improvement defensively. Nothing like his offensive jump but he’s a hard worker so I imagine it will improve some. How much? TBD.
