I don't get why anybody would pick to play in the NBA over college ball

It’s called money and competing at the highest level. Between the $10 million a year Chet would make being a top 3 pick, and then possibly a couple million more a year from endorsements. He would make 10 times less staying in college to play against cupcakes that won’t help him improve, why on earth would he do that?

It's almost like we're stuck in an episode of Intervention with brm and he just can't put down those moronic takes, they're like heroin to the man!

If Zion had the ability to stay at Duke, does he still get his endorsement deal from Nike/Jordan? Does he sign other deals?

I would wager that Zion could have made 50-60% of what he does now staying at Duke. He would get more national exposure, play against cupcakes, less than half the number of games, little to no pressure and play against guys his own age. Plus he is the king of his sport.

You keep saying it's dumb. Was it dumb for the Mannings? Was it dumb for Duncan?

Lots of guys like college and want the experience if playing college ball. It's a stage in life and competition. I don't think it's wise to skip it, especially if you are ready for the next level.

Holmgren, with the proper management, can make 5M+ next year in school. He's not making 10x more leaving. Chances are he is going to be miserable once he gets to the league (most NBA rookies are)..

Generational is becoming a far too common term in the nba draft.

If Zion did what you are suggesting and his injuries stayed the same, then his draft value would plummet.

Yes, it's astronomically dumb, when you start listening to those that try to show this to you instead of arguing for your right to be dumb, then your posting value might rise. Hence why you had you're taking to the mat yesterday in the other thread where your personal opinion was called dumb.

Call a spade, a spade. If your kids have a chance at this type of career, they should never listen to you.

Y’all should really breathe in this rarified gem of take.

College basketball is awful.

I have no idea what this means or why I should care. Maybe I am dumb or mentally challenged. There are those that are that do post on here. Does it make you feel better or surperior to constantly point that out? Are you saying those people (which might include me) have no right to post or join the conversation?

I would never encourage my kids to chase money. They should enjoy what makes them happy. It's weird that a college based board has this huge animosity towards college sports. I loved college. I would happily go back if I could. I can't even imagine being a Superstar athlete on campus, even better making 7 figures while doing it. Sign me up for that.

I don't know why people keep on harping on this point. I don't think it's odd or controversial. I have said of tons of players that they would better off staying in school (especially if they aren't physically ready). I don't care if he is going top 3..

That's fine, you can take a horse to water but you can't make them drink it. Everyone can be a part of the conversation. You just don't know anything that you are talking about and are attempting to engage in conversation on a board of folks who do.

Instead of trying to learn something, you just want to be accepted for your personal opinion on something which makes sense to you but has no logic to it in reality. Emotional arguments are your modus operandi, and since you lack comprehension you just try to play the victim as soon as some accountability to logic comes your way.

Maybe you're trying to be avant-garde with an opinion because that's all the rage, or maybe you just have a backward view of how systems work and things progress. Maybe you don't read enough and have an extra dose of egotism that fuels it. Doesn't matter either way. The fact is that it's fairly obvious you don't know what you're talking about, but you're trying to convince folks who do clearly know more than you. Instead of learning, you just want to argue how it's a good perspective just because it's yours. And you can't make sense of the logic presented to you because you have to admit to that ego that you are wrong. It's one of the real problems in this country.

But by all means, keep not listening, it's rather hilarious.

It's the same 5-6 guys that are always giving me shite. Not some greater authority or panel of experts. Just a group of guys stuck in the same echo chamber and mimic each other's opinions while high fiving and grab assing with each other. It's actually funny watching you all run to each other's defense and try to gang up on your targets. It just doesn't bother me.

How exactly would you like this resolved?

Ritual suicide? Me begging you for forgiveness?

Seriously I said I was wrong. It wasn't enough. I have to fall in lock step and embrace every opinion you have as a fact?

Then why are you seeking the validation of your horrible opinion with them constantly? You've been told your takes are horrible, but they continue. to the same audience. daily. for months. see the listening problem that is referenced?

Again, this emotional victimhood perspective you come from when you are called out. Glad to see the words actually came out without "maybe" added to it. people may love to shite on folks, but most folks enjoy seeing someone progress. guess we'll see next month.

Am I? Why would you think that?

You or them do not own the board. I can post what I want. I'm not flaming or attacking anyone.

I've been posting on here over 10 years. It's really nothing new. Most other people just come and go. I've been rather consistent.

I'm defending myself. You keep talking about me or to me, I respond. But it doesn't really matter what I say, you'll snipe a portion and keep it going. Rinse and repeat..

Hahaha who in the frick is paying Zion 10 million dollars to stay at Duke? You literally pulled that out your arse and I would love to see any sources that confirm that. I don’t even know what you’re trying to say either. If Zion stays at Duke, he has to wait to make the amount of money he’s making now, and could have possibly not been the first pick because of his injuries. Also why are asking if Zion had ability to stay Duke? He could have stayed for 4 years if he wanted, nothing was stopping him from staying. He went pro because you’d have to be a complete moron to waste time and money by staying in college when you already know you’re a top pick.

Wow man you had to go back over 20 years to find examples. Do you realize that staying in college did nothing for there draft stock and endorsements? Good for them for staying in college but they did not become richer or more famous by staying in college.

The problem here is you seem to be projecting what you might do if you were in this situation, instead of putting yourself in another persons shoes and using critical thinking to consider Chet H might do.

Also on what planet is Chet Holgrem possibly making $5 million dollars to stay at Gonzaga? The entire city of Spokane doesn’t have $5 million dollars.

You should consider changing your name from Brmark to skidmark, it’s more appropriate

I’d say your atrocious attempts at serous conversation are flaming attacks on all of us.

You’re on an NBA board talking about how the vastly inferior product that is college basketball is what you prefer to the NBA.

Which explains why you post such garbage takes

as I’ve said, you’re clueless about the nba.

The WR from Pitt just got offered 3M, a mansion and a car to go to USC. Zion signed a 100M shoe deal while still at Duke (after the season was over). Same with Lebron James in high school.

Holmgren has NIL deals with Beats, Yahoo and one of the trading card companies. Timme got a deal with one of the shaving companies.

There are influencer groups that are paying .50 a member. Holmgren is over 300k and climbing.

There is money there. It's not NBA money. He would make more in the NBA. But he's not broke and he can make good money. A good manager would get him millions a year in college. That's not debatable.

I have admitted that over and over. He wasn't staying. I got it.

I said I think he should stay. If it were me, I would stay. I believe he would be better off staying. I'm not backing off that..

Sorry, Skidmark got me off subject. Gotta be Chet based on potential. He’s got the skill that Jabari and Banchero have but more upside because of his defense. If we don’t hit the lottery then I want Mathaurin or Jalen Duren, I’m a big fan of Duren.
