Asik gets 8 million and still I rather Lopez over Asik

I rather Monty play center than Asik at this point

overreaction at its best

he is an ABSOLUTE black hole offensively, but for someone making 8mil/yr the guy is a great defensive center. We paid 2.7mil for Stiemsma and that was an absolute waste...do you guys REALLY want to go that route again?

8 million a year And our first round pick

Am I still over reacting or are you the one guy at the arena who doesn't boo Asik when he makes dumb plays

And he is a black hole on offense, very true, and he is solid on defense, somewhat true

Explains why Asik barely plays at the end of a game and we put No defense Anderson out their instead

because Asik decides when Asik plays?

Everyone and their mom has criticized Monty for this. Hell, even Houston fans say Monty is an idiot for leaving Asik on the bench in crunch time.

The one game where Asik was in late into the 4th quarter, we won. The other games? 90% of the time we lose because Ryno and his inability to hit an open 3 is out there.

That 15th pick overall could of been very useful now with trades, The Celtics admit they would give us Jeff Green for a first round pick

That 15th-ish pick could of let us make alot better trade today

Jeff Green wouldn't really fit on this roster.

Some of y'all would still whine about trading a pick no matter what.

I can imagine it: "Dell traded another draft pick for a guy that could bolt? #Firedell, young players blah blah"

Armchair GMs amuse me

I might whine or complain, however I complain because I spend way to much time following the Pelicans.

Let's recap our past two days
- Jrue Holiday surprisenly might be out the whole year
- Thunder just got Amazing
- To early to say if the Suns got better, but they got 2 first round picks
- We got cole for Salmons

It's hard to be positive with the progress of this team, not to mention Monty as our coach, and our GM publicly said he likes this team and doesn't want to trade our core players. Those core players a playoff caliber team in the West?

This was our time to get better for a playoff push and compared to the teams we battling for the 8th spot , they did so much better than us

I guess next year we be better?

Lets blame properly, since we're all frustrated with this FO/coaching staff.

If any average NBA coach were coaching the Pelicans, would we be + or - on wins? I'd go with +.

Realistically, the talent is more than enough in a loaded west to at least be the 8th seed.

I don't think so

No not really

That they won't see for like 2 years

Which is a mini miracle

With health yes,we've seen them beat teams like HOU/MEM/SAS/OKC etc and it's just a problem of bad luck/monty.

Something crazy could happen in the offseason, you just have to stay positive.

AD is a superstar, and could drag this team to the playoffs by himself. Asik is so far from the problem for this team it is laughable.

The Pels problems are as follows:
1. Monty
2. Jrue Holiday
3. Ryno's 3 point shot.

Number one can be fixed this offseason.

Number two is just bad luck, but he's done for the year. Hopefully he is healthy next year. If not, you cut and stretch him. Such a shame.

Number 3 is a damn mystery. Fingers crossed it returns.

ETA: The Pels clearly need to get better this offseason and next via FA.

The problem now is Anderson's shot made to personal defensive stop ratio

He might score 15 but gives up 20ish

We need him to score 25ish, however we can't sub him out every defensive possession

I forgot that Cole is known for his defense, maybe he will fill the void Jrue had when he was healthy as the shutdown defender

Asik sucks for all the hype/money/bounty-given-up for him.

This is the bottom line. Really no debating this guys.
