I don’t care which games were wins and losses, I think any Pels fan would happily take a 3-1 game road trip here. Worst case is 2-2, but while the spread isn’t out yet, ESPN gives us an 81% chance of winning Sunday at DET.

If Pels win 7 they’re going to be in the 4-5 game. PHX and SAC have the toughest schedules remaining.

I based my original magic # projection off the wrong team
after correcting my mistake... my new belief is our current magic # is either 4 or 5 to guarantee postseason play (at least a play-in game)

Probably less than that because there's no way Houston goes undefeated the rest of the way. I say 2 more wins should realistically guarantee it.

so it's any combo of 5 Pelicans wins & Rockets losses

I'm not questioning what the official numbers say we need to do to guarantee a play in spot. I just don't buy Houston winning the rest of the way to force anything like that. They will lose games when they run into teams fighting hard for positioning in the final week of March and into April.
