BI has done the late 3 to backside cover like 4 times this year. It’s Kind of his thing. Sometimes he even hits 2.

Did you project him vastly improving his efficiency after a torn ACL and not playing for a year? Being like 10 percent better from 3?

Last year he was barely more efficient than Nickiel

It’s great to box your guy out, but if the ball is 8 inches away from your hands, you just go ahead and grab it.

TBH, I was skeptical on Dinwiddie, but after making NAW look like a child and hitting step back three after step back three on NAW in their off-season workouts, rocking NAW’s shite driving and defending, it should have been a bigger sign….for both

Obviously lots contributed to this loss but the ball completely stopped moving altogether essentially from the start of the 4th quarter on.

Jonas got no paint touches at all in the 4th.

That shows bad guard play , poor IQ, Jonas got tired and Willie dropped the ball ...he can’t let that happen .

And when he did, Graham acted like he was in fricking cement instead of sliding to the corner to give Jonas an outlet when Pope was cheating off him to double.

Just dumb play, bad coaching, and a terrible loss

Wait, are we going to act like Jonas was even going to think about kicking it out? If he gets the ball in a post up he is shooting the ball

We really didn’t deserve Saints and Pelicans we’d inflicted Ls back to back like this. Gotta put this game on Willie and Bi

Yes?

Jonas is one of the savviest players on the team and had 3 assists(with several more potential assists) and only 1 turnover tonight. He plays within himself and if Graham had slid over I 100% guarantee he would have passed out the double. Heck, if you watch the play he was looking for an outlet but because Graham basically kept himself out of the play after making the drop down pass Jonas had nothing he could do

Jonas isnt a bad passer, but he passes to cutters. He is a savy passer while looking towards the goal, he is not an intelligent passer when it comes to back to basket post touches. He doesnt make bad decisions in terms of pass vs turnover, he makes bad decisions when it’s pass vs take a stupid shot

When he does kick out, it usually works out very well. He just doesnt do it ever, which is maybe why our players dont even attempt to get open when he posts up because they know he’s going to barrel to the goal for a baby hook, or he’s going to spin and fadeaway

Yeah. I knew this was going to be his best year. He showed glimpses of his 3 against Detroit. If you follow his IG, you can see he was dedicated to improving in that area. Everyone said he was a good leader when Kyrie and Durant were out. I rather have a guy like him who posts basketball and his improvement over some of our guys who posts about their fame and fit. That’s why I posted about him a lot last year on how we should have grabbed him

But go back and watch the play.

Jonas has the ball dumped off to him and hes literally standing and staring down Graham for a good several seconds waiting for him to move, but all Graham does is move slightly further toward the center of the arc as Pope abandons Graham completely to hard double Jonas and Jonas is forced into a 2 on 1 iso and so he aggressively turns to back down and the foul happens.

That play is entiriely on Graham, full stop.

Graham played dreadful down the stretch and that was one of the reasons. If Graham is going to make that pass to set up players as the teams leading facilitator, he has to think through it and realize the possession isn’t over simply because he no longer has the ball, and there is literally no defensible reason to move toward the arc the way he did, as all it does is allow his man to cheat off entiriely but give him the space to recover if Jonas tried to throw it through traffic.

What a strange group of players...not sure (yet) how many "winners"... the Pels have out there.

I agree Graham should have continued and ran the right basketball play, but I’m just saying that it was unlikely Jonas wouldve passed it anyway. I agree with both of those things

The moral of the story is that we will never really know because Graham chose to be a retard lol.

He didn’t even give Jonas a chance to make the right play.

To me, this was probably our 2nd most disappointing loss this season. We had enough talent to win tonight. You can’t really say that for many of the other losses (especially the ones when BI was sitting).

Wow ... Don't know where to start, really discouraged with the effort in the 3rd. quarter. This was where the game was lost. Dinwiddie should have never been allowed to heat up like that with so little resistance. We reverted back to walking the ball up the court, little off-ball movement, and being forced to take tough shots. Our Pels had a good 1st. half and apparently thought they could mail the game in. WG should really lay into them about that effort. We are 2-12 and should be scrapping instead of coasting. Really poor effort that quarter.

On another note, WG does not have the personnel available to not start and play Herb 30 minutes (if he can stay out of foul trouble). Rookie or not he is currently our third-best player. The team is short-handed but BI, Jonas, Graham, and Herb need to be penciled in 30+ minutes until our husky boy returns.

Main issue on that play is where Jonas got the ball . He’s got his back to the basket 18-20 ft away .

That’s not a paint touch .

Credit the defense , some blame goes to Jonas too, but again guard has to help put him in a position to have a chance .

I see Jaxson Hayes immediately got online and posted his one highlight from the game.

Never change Jax.

Agree Herb is the 3rd best player but he would have to be rotated off an aggressive offensive player, from time to time... to be able to stay on the court for 30 minutes. Would also love to see Herb develope a more "creative" finish when he lowers his head and goes to the hoop. He'll learn fairly soon. He'll be hitting floaters & kicking out to open shooters before long. (Wish Kira could learn some of those finishing moves also...come to think of it)
