Those Mark Jackson odds.....frightening. Though likely just ignorance from name recognition.
Haven't heard a single word that he is even being considered much around the league, let alone with us.

It’s been like that from the beginning. A bunch of names thrown at the wall.

I wonder if hiring Doc would change the direction of the team any. Griff wants someone that shares his vision of the team, so probably not, but would Doc mean definitely keeping Jrue and JJ for example?

But Doc is new and at the top of the list. It says that the odds makers think the bettors think there's a chance Doc would take the job.

Because they are one of two teams connected by a report.
That’s what the public sees.

Clippers assistant Ty Lue will obviously be a candidate to replace Doc Rivers in LA, remains in the hunt for the Philadelphia job -- although Mike D'Antoni is widely considered the favorite -- and Lue has also received support for the Houston job, league sources say

That's interesting. I could see it. Cause it could also potentially entice both players to stay here instead of going to more ready-made contenders after next season. Something JJ has mentioned. And maybe a decision that was in part out of a sense of inevitability or assumed direction takes on a new dynamic with a well-respected coach like Doc coming on board to go with renewed buy-in.

As much as I think D'Antoni is a lot better than his reputation seems to earn him from a healthy dose of detractors, D'Antoni to Philly feels like LAL redux.
Just a weird fit for what he likes to do and the talent he will have to work with.

Well that worries me. I could see them totally shifting gears and going absolute win now, trading 13, NAW, Hayes, Didi, etc.

Why would you want this dude as coach? He made absolutely no adjustments as the Nuggets came back down 3-1.

He’s a good coach. Not a great one but a good one and garners respect.
I don’t particularly want him but I won’t melt either. He’s fine.

What I am concerned about is that he says the same type of things that Gentry was saying like "Oh they're just making shots" when players are just being left wide open throughout the game.

No thanks.

I probably like him a bit more, wouldn’t put him in the top tier of Carlisle, Nurse, Stevens, Pop, Kerr, Spoelstra, but I’d probably throw him in the next tier with Budenholzer, Snyder, and Malone. But behind those guys.
Certainly wouldn’t be opposed to taking a swing for the fences with a new first time head coach, probably somewhat prefer it, but of the current veteran options Doc is probably my number one or two.

He's done better with teams with no ego and players that aren't super verbal, much like what we have. I would argue his 2018-19 team was better than his 2019-20 team with Kawhi and PG, they just played hard as frick every game, which is what we need from a coach.

Jrue, JJ, Lonzo cant all stay if they give B.I. the max.
Posted on 9/28/20 at 8:13 pm to BayouRat15
Well that's just not true.
