We're going to be in better shape when this has all played out. That's a fact.

The hell we are.

Using amnesty on Paul is better than taking on Martin, Scola, and Odom. We'll pay the luxury tax to win 41 games.

If we get Scola, I love it.

Then West goes bye-bye, and we're not in awful shape.

Ideally, LA should take Okafor's contract off our hands.

Is this a joke?

No. Show me a better deal that was actually possible? Curry and Gordon were off the table. Clippers were offering Bledsoe and perhaps dangling DeAndre Jordan who would've wanted a sign and trade for about $50 million over 4 years. So that right there is more money than Scola's contract.

quote:

Ariza's contract >>>>>>>>>>> Scola's contract

Scola's contract means you don't have to re-sign West. Ariza catching almost $7 million a year is just as bad as Scola getting $10 million. Instead, you've wiped off $7 million from the books by not having to re-sign West because your PF spot is filed.

The #1's will be in the 20's and Odom will cry until he is traded.

I don't have a problem trading Odom. That's fine. Dump him for expiring contracts and/or younger players. Package the #1's together to either move up in draft or obtain more younger talent.

BayouBengal, you're not even a Hornets fan are you? Aren't you a Mavs fan?

This deal sucks as it is. No young talent, long contracts, no high draft picks. It's flat garbage unless Demps does some serious flipping.

I'd rather West to Scola.

They're basically the same player but Scola's making more than West will get.

Scola's deal is the only negative about this deal. Yet he had a career year last year, so who knows which way he is going to trend.

I am also excited about Dragic if these rumors are true. He is a good young PG who can shoot the 3 and distribute the ball.

4 starting quality players if it all holds true

If the NBA leaves NO, any chance NOLA gets a baseball or hockey team?

Based on some of these comments, it's pretty clear a lot of you (1) don't know what the new CBA requires in terms of team spending and (2) don't understand how salaries have to match for trades to be processed.
