There are no "star" free agents this year. Incredibly average class.
Besides, why blow the money and lock-in on a guy? Hornets need to rebuild through the draft and smart free agent acquisitions. With the new CBA dictating cap requirements (85%), teams will have to spend some money. Key will be doing it smartly to not get locked in for too long with mediocre guys. The Hornets will have some big cap numbers, but it makes sense under the new CBA to pay a little more in years 1 and 2 and wait for the cap requirements to decrease and the talent pool to get better in 2014 and onward.

I'm going to be laughing at all the Chicken Littles if the Hornets have flipped Paul and Ariza's terrible contract for Kevin Martin, Scola, Odom and two #1's.
