Say at 6, Porter, MCW, and Dipo are there.

Who do you take?

For some reason AB is #1 on the SBNation board

I agree.

Are we content with our PG and center situation?

No, but the glaring hole at SF needs to be taken care of first.

On the BSS podcast today they discussed how players like Porter seem to fall on draft day.

Pierce, Granger, and a few others were brought up.

So I could definitely see that happening. I still think Oladipo is a top 5 lock.

folks are starting to realize that porter has been nothing more than a tall sg. dude garnered a bit more hype than he deserved. he's my upset draft slide.

I kinda believe in the "take the best available player over need" philosophy and it seems like Dipo has the highest ceiling in this draft, so i'd take him if available.

Aren't all SFs oversized SGs?

IMO they both are, but the draft is a somewhat unpredictable beast.

Anthony bennett is a boss, hope he slides to us. It's a toss up for me between porter and dipo, they're both healthy glue prospects (something that can't be said for others). It really depends on what we're doing with gordon.

I'm 90% that the wiz are taking bennett, he's got that d west midrange gamr in his large repertoire.

I'm just not seeing it in Bennett. His jump is baffling me. He's a tweener ala Derrick Williams.

Porter fits the bigger need, but Oladipo looks like he has the highest realistic ceiling in the draft besides Noel. All indications are that he can defend SF's, so I don't see why you can't have him, Vasquez, and EG on the court together.

Nice point. I'd take dipo, I'd just hope we can get a good C so we're not too small.

In that situation I'd be happy with either Dipo or Porter, but I'd prolly lean 65/35 towards Dipo over porter.

There's always some last minute risers (last year Waiters and Lillard). I think Mccullom and Len are going to go higher than they're being projected right now. I've read a Cavs writer talking about how they should consider Len over Noel.

like i said in another thread, porter is weak in every area you would want a sf to excel at.
sf's should be able to come right in the nba and do pretty good against sg's. college level guards gave porter hell on both ends of the court.

6-8/210
6-9/205
6-4/200
6-3/190
6-3/165

this is gulf coast's lineup that shut porter down and jumped all over his head.

he had a few standout games but i just don see the hype surrounding the draft rating.

In this draft, I would not be surprised to see Noel, Burke, Porter, Dipo, McCollum, Bennett, McLemore, or Len go top 5, so I could see ways that Porter and Oladipo fall to us.

In my eyes, I see Porter as a safer pick. He does a little bit of everything, and he fits our current need.

Oladipo is a wild card. He is going to be an elite defender, and his offense game has improved.

Personally, I would pick Porter in this scenario, because he is exactly the player we need. However, if Gordon is moved this all changes.
