Official Cunningham Pelicans drama speculation thread

I didn't see this talked about in any other threads. Crewz and Scott Kushner were alluding to a lot of beef between the parties on twitter leading up to the trade. Kushner said Cunningham was either getting traded or cut, but that there was no scenario in the future where he was gonna be on the team. Crewz isn't dropping the golden nuggets of info until his pod drops. I wonder what happened. Was it really just because he was benched or did a teammate sleep with his wife ALA John Terry?

I'm betting it's something along the lines of "I lost my starting SF job to a SG that's getting killed on defense because he's not a SF. GFY"

Yeah, probably felt that whatever sell job the Pels put on him to sign here was not being adhered to. After adding Mirotic, he probably felt he would not get off the bench much any more and wanted to go somewhere to try and get minutes.

he prob thought he was in for big minutes once hill went down. he ended up choosing the Pels over 3 other teams in FA. im sure he was hoping for an opportunity to showcase his talents more and land a decent deal in the offseason

I understand having pride and self confidence, but man he had to know he was the worst player on the floor anytime he stepped on to it.

I don't know why Cunningham would be mad or feel slighted, he had every opportunity since day 1 to remain a starter and/or a key member of the team. Dude just sucks this year. He was resigned with hopes he could continue last year's 3 & D, role he excelled at last year.
