You don't have to want anything from any current roster, if you so desire. But, the beauty of three or rare four-team trades involving superstars or quality starters, is that the team parting with the best superstar, usually gains a tad more in prospects or draft picks, via the increased pool, and sheer size of the deal.

We trade CP3. Don't worry about him eliminating us from the playoffs. We will be in the lottery the next two years.
Oh okay, so I guess we won't exist as a franchise in years 3-X and Chris Paul will be completely washed up while simultaneously hitting his de-facto prime? Nevermind then, good to know.

Portland seems to be the only of these teams with anything worth a frick for us to get back.

But for what ? Rudy Fernandez ? He doesn't even want to be in the states anymore.
Give me Oden, Batum, Przybilla...that's a start. I need a couple other pieces.
Send en back CP3 and Emeka.

Oden? Seriously?
Ummm yeh. If I trade CP3 I at least want the other teams best prospect back in return.

Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to New Orleans and Indiana being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. New Orleans and Indiana had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

And with Roy and Aldridge obviously off-the-table, any Portland deal would have to include at least two or the three in Bayless, Batum, and Fernandez..and a pick or two..depending whether you only get two of them..or all three.
Would love to see a deal for Indy's Granger(native New Orleanian), which would possibly aid in his contentment in being and staying in Hornets small market, and make the frontline bigger and more athletic.

The only way I see Indy trading Danny G is next summer.
He'd have to have a subpar season and Paul George is going to have to have a breakout season.

I like Granger, but trading CP3 should be used as an opportunity to dump Okafor's albatross of a deal for a passable center at the same time.

Murphy, Granger, and Ford for CP and Emeka works as well.

Will Murphy be playing out of position as a C if that happens or do you have another deal in mind to plug that hole for this season?

You still have Peja's expiring to try and get a replacement Center.

Absolutely agree, almost any deal for CP3, should include Okafor, unless paid a premium to not include him..IE..a contender overpaying in the form of future draft picks as to not be saddled with EO.

Kind of the reason why I kept emeka and threw in peja in original deal.

Come on y'all. Think about this. WHY would Indiana do that ? So they'll be in the exact same boat as the Hornets are in now ?
