Demps just signed his own pink slip.

Talk about settling on a hire. Absolutely pitiful. This is why this franchise is a punchline among the NBA.
Monty Williams 2.0. Hopefully the ownership will see the light in the next few years of losing and completely clean house of this mess. That should have been done this time. It all starts at the top. Nothing will change with Gentry. Might as well have kept Williams if this is who you're going to bring in. He brings nothing new to the table and the status quo will continue......

if you agree with what demps has done here. The negatives far outweigh the positives and it's not even close.

the only major quesetion mark is tyreke (and what it took to get him). he's been pretty good at getting talent to a small market team nobody wants to play for. we got ryan anderson, jrue holiday, a slew of bench players, and asik for good deals.

Player want to win and he knows he won't with Gentry. He will be able to go to Chicago for less money but win and have any endorsement he wants. The Pelicans are a joke franchise

Demps just hired a guy with a worse record than the one he just fired!

Monty - Win percentage of 43.9%

Gentry - Win percentage of 47.5%

Demps is a good GM imo idk why people hate him, and before anybody mentions the Gordon signing give him the benefit of the doubt that he had no choice. Let the guy pick the coach of his choice and build around AD to become a championship team

Not sure about this hire. I realize that we need to be better on offense, but I am not sure that our current players can play up temp. I hope I am wrong.

I can't wait to bump this thread when AD averages 29 ppg and we're firmly entrenched in the playoffs.

When you hire a guy who no one else wants who has been fired everywhere he's been that makes you a stupid GM

If Shaw puts together our defense, I'm going to love it. Our offense is going to be bananas

You thought the asik deal was good? Are you retarded? Have you seen that fruitcake try and play basketball? I love how a lot of you think holiday has actually proven his worth here and justified the two first rounders we gave up. All I see is a player that may sit out half the season every season. All demps did was get rid of our future for a team that hits their ceiling as a first round exit playoff team.

First, you don't think they asked AD what he thought about each of the candidates?

Second, in case you've missed the last 5 years, endorsements don't just go to the big city teams.... 2 of the biggest commercial guys are currently playing in Oklahoma City, no one gives a frick about anyone in New York or Brooklyn. All they care about is the player

@ESPNSteinLine: Fact that Gentry was also part of a Warriors staff that oversaw the league's top-ranked defense this season, I'm told, also appealed to Pels

yeah a good, defensive center who makes reasonable money with bird's rights for a mid-1st rounder? that's a great deal

those 1st rounders haven't amounted to shite (we weren't drafting noel adn it would have been trey burker or MCW...both of whom suck)

holiday has been great for us. he's just been snakebit by some random injuries. he's still really young, is great on defense, can run an offense, and is on a cap-friendly deal.

list me the "future" we didn't get to draft

Let’s get a coach who has 700 games under him with a .475 win percentage to take a team to the next level. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
