Exactly. Something is up. How is a 20 yr old elite athlete constantly on minutes restriction and everyone is real vague about the exact reason. If you are a pro, just taking a week off puts you in that bad of shape? I mean god damn do fricking burpees in your god damn room while in quarantine or something. Not come back looking like a fatty lol

Except now theres very little margin for error. You now have to go 6-1 and you play your hardest game of the schedule next.

Melt melt melt melt melt. Are we not in the first year of a rebuild?

He is incredibly elite at scoring with his back to the basket in the paint:...it’s not 1992.
Incredibly efficient scoring is an elite characteristic in any era, this one included. You're mistaking the idea that hardly anyone being able to do it with it not being an elite skill.
quote:He's a rookie who's played 20 games, relax.
He has serious ball handling issues. Serious shooting issues. Serious defensive issues.
quote:Not really, he could have given 30 minutes tonight just like he could have all season since his return.
And serious health/availability issues

Regardless of whether or not they shot poorly, there is no doubt that this was considered 1 of our 2 hardest games of the bubble schedule.
i agree. this was our 2nd toughest game remaining. 5-3 with 1 of the wins being over SAC and we should still get into the play-in vs grizz. that 5-3 just became 5-2 though

however when it comes to defense, he is well below average.

Asked Zion if this was just a conditioning issue: He said it’s not. But said it’s getting his flow of the game and rhythm back. Said it’s the best players in the world and you want to feel comfortable on the court. Added that he doesn’t want to hurt team more than he helps them.

I understand the frustration... but Zo is fine. Didn't play his best but perfect PG for Zion.
Favors played too much. Especially during crunch time.
Melli and Zion didn't play enough. At least they would have been a threat to score and would have prevented Gobert from clogging he lane.
Hate loosing one we could have one. But we win Saturday vs the Clips (without Lou Williams), then we are back in the thick of things.

6 for 8. 13 points. In 15 mins. We’ve already mind fricked this kid. Don’t play him if he’s not ready. If he is he needs his minutes. If you pump the fan base about he is “truly” ready we want to see it. If not shut the frick up.

Full quote from Zion: "It's not even just conditioning; it's just getting my flow to the game back. This is the NBA, this is the best players in the world; and you want to feel comfortable. I don't want to hurt my team more than I helped them in a sense, if you understand me."

Good news is the either the clips don’t look great, or the lakers are just that good.
