Lakers ruined Knecht. After the trade got voided he was never the same.

I would just try and convince Utah to get involved in this deal and toss them a couple of picks (one from the Lakers and one from us) to get Kessler
Jazz get Missi and Maxi (who'd they buy out) + 2 picks
Lakers get Hawks, Karlo
Pels get Kessler, Knecht
If it meant Knecht went to Utah, I'm OK with that too

He was better in March and April than he was in December, January, and February. The Lakers fawning media just overhyped him after a strong first month of the season.

If all you want is a one dimensional guy with some decent efficiency, might as well just re-sign Reeves. A lot cheaper and gives you all the same deficiencies.
