Could have had Nerlens Noel on a rookie deal as opposed to signing Monroe to a max deal

Noel hasn't even stepped foot on an NBA court yet... and likely won't do so until 2015.

I like Jrue but he made the all star game because of injuries.

He was still averaging 19/9 on 45% before ASG.

You have EG for 3 more years at $15m

Evans for 4 more years at $11m

Holiday for 4 more years at $10m

Anderson for 3 more years at $8.5m

Davis will be making $9m by the end of his deal plus whatever ridiculous contract extension he gets.

Point is, if you want to keep this young nucleus together, you cannot afford to sign a Greg Monroe to a max deal. Therefore, if you wanted a game changing big man, you either needed to A. hold onto Noel or B. Free yourself of one of the huge deals you have or C. Not spend money on a guy like Evans when you already have a crowded backcourt and instead get a legit center like Monroe.

I think saying Noel is going to be a game changing big man is pretty premature

Monroe is no more of a center than Jason Smith is. He is much better at the 4.

Davis is probably going to be big enough to play center next year anyway
