Thanks again for registering for the VIP virtual event with our new head coach, Stan Van Gundy, and EVP of Basketball Ops, David Griffin. Stan + Griff are excited to share their vision for the upcoming season ... and beyond.

To access the event, simply click here starting Wednesday @ 7pm CT or copy-paste Pelicans.com/meetcoach20 into your browser's address bar.

A reminder that our MC, Pelicans TV play-by-play announcer Joel Meyers, will be asking Stan + Griff some of the questions you submitted when you RSVPed. You can also send us a question by texting 504-525-4667.

I have no clue if this is a closed event or not.

Speaking of private meetings with SVG:

In private meeting, Stan Van Gundy and Zion Williamson discuss need for Pelicans star to lose weight as both split a Popeyes 20-piece family meal, 30 biscuits and two diet cokes, sources tell ESPN.

Griffin just confirmed they are listening to offers for Jrue and said they are looking for substainable wins for the future and Jrue wants to win.

Is that a first hand report or you heard it somewhere? If it's first hand please recap when you can.

That's some impressive GM speak. We might trade Jrue, we might keep Jrue. It's good to have that stance though, when you know a player is definitely being traded the price can often go down.

What I’m hearing while reading Griff’s comments.

“We currently have no reason to trade Jrue Holiday at this point in time because we believe we have the pieces in place to be a consistent winner. At the same time we are aware that Jrue’s value is at an all time high around the league. If this team isn’t trending in the right direction nearing the trade deadline (or sooner) it’s possible Jrue may be moved. No story here, next question?”
