Now Richard Jefferson is on Get Up this morning saying the Lakers screwed it up and they didn't operate in good faith from the beginning with AD and Rich Paul trying to strong arm the Pels.

Here's the link to the new RJ video.

LINK

I don't see anything that out of line in him saying both things. It really depended on the question. Cowherd asked if it was smart for the Pels to intentionally embarrass the Lakers. He said "if that's true that that's what they were doing" it's bad mostly for future free agency. That's not unreasonable for someone not in the middle of being tampered with to say intentionally embarrassing the Lakers has enough potential negative consequences to not be worth it.

In the clip here Greenie asked him about negotiating in Good Faith and so he brought up that the Lakers started it.

Here comes the push-back:
quote:

@BillSimmons
This situation is ludicrous. It’s been a fun NBA season on the court and an absolute train wreck off the court. If you sign a massive deal to be someone’s max player — here’s an idea, show up every night and be their best player. What are you doing AD???

quote:

Fans and media have become numb to NBA players doing whatever the F they want. Davis could have waited until this summer to do this — instead he imploded the situation for leverage, it didn’t work, and now he’s pretending to be the victim. “I want to play.” This is so lame.

quote:

I don’t know how the NBA can fix this specific issue, but it completely undermines the concept of a team: Stars grabbing max deals while thinking, “I’ll grab the money now, and if we don’t get better, I’ll just push for a trade.” AKA... Pulling a Carmelo.

quote:

@TheSteinLine Marc Stein
The Pelicans are being held to a standard that the NBA has not held other teams to this season. A very healthy Carmelo Anthony was essentially exiled by the Rockets in November. Memphis' Chandler Parsons and Cleveland's JR Smith, too

quote:

If Anthony Davis wants to exercise his right to request a trade, his team should be able to exercise the right to not play him until the trade is made.

Huge proxy war between the Lakers and Celtics in the press.

We’re effectively Ukraine being expected to cede Crimea to Russia (Lake Show).

Watched the RJ video. He basically said Magic and Pelinka are amateurs that don't knwo what they are doing and Jay Williams was like "they got played"
