quote:Zion has never been anywhere near an MVP level basketball player, plus no one is asking Zion not to play basketball, not sure what post you thought you were replying to here.
I’m sorry for expecting a mvp level basketball player to be able to play fricking basketball.

All you wrote were excuses
If you think Zion can start and finish games at center and not increase his injury risk and play 70+ games and do a great job guarding other centers in the league, have at it. I certainly disagree for obvious reasons, but you can have your opinion that he can be a great center, play great defense on all other centers, and have no worries about injury concerns, that's cool. i just won't be thinking that.
You're talking about what you hope or what you think should happen. I'm talking about the most likely reality of what would happen if Zion was our starting center.

And you're talking about something I haven't said.
I have yet to ever say Zion should be our starting center. I have said mulitple times we need a big body 5, and that guy should play anywhere from 10-25 mpg depending on matchups. And we do not have that big body guy on this roster right now.
I don't care about his injury risk. Get in shape fatass. Injuries happen. I'm not going to safeguard him his entire career scared he's going to get hurt. Play basketball. he's paid really well to do that. If a 285lb guy can't defend other big guys that weigh less than him without getting hurt, then what's the point of being the heaviest player in the league. Lose 20-40lbs.

False. He was #3 in MVP rankings before he got hurt in Jan of 23. He woulda been a top MVP candidate in year 2 if the team was better, he made history that year. You are wrong bruh.

I could see a contender come knocking for BI midseason if one of their stars go down
I think this is what they are hoping. Let him play there for half a yr and figure out his contract after.
They just need to get something good for him. If not let him walk

I don't... i was making a general statement... sorry you felt a certain way about it
i more than likely just responded to the last message I read in the thread, vs. going back to the OP to respond
No worries, when you say "all yall" you're typically grouping in the person you're responding to with the other people...not sure how else to comprehend that

It was just practice, but this was a very interesting comment from the beginning of the Pelicans podcast yesterday after practice:
Lots of good talk about Murray as a PG, and again more talk about deflections defensively from this team.
It was interesting how it was said but it's so true.
Basically said it's such a big difference watchign a guy go to the paint with his head up and being 50/50 on wanting to score or set someone up, as opposed to what we've been used to where we drove to the goal with the intention of scoring, and when that didn't work we "throw a grenade" back out and hope to get bailed out by someone else to score.

I think the main thing that I really noticed, and I guess y'all would echo this, was watching Brandon Ingram and the emphasis he had on himself to take threes.
How many midi's yesterday?
Zero.
He did not take one mid range shot in any moment of last night's practice. It was either threes or driving.

Willie Green: Zion is not a 5. Let's take that out of our terminology.
