Revisiting this debate. Last year I trashed Lonzo, when compared to who was better for last years team, Moore or Lonzo. For last year, we needed 3’s bad and I said Moore all the way.

This year we get Lonzo. Crazy.

I still like Moore better for last years team. Butttt, interesting that this has happened. Moore looked great in spurts last year but couldnt shake the inj bug. Lonzo’s defense etc was unreal last year but he couldnt shake the inj bug either.

I’ll def eat crow on Lonzo, Im glad we have him for this squad. With Payton gone I think he will be an upgrade especially defensively, and toronto showed you can win with defense last year. Also, if we trade Lonzo we will get significant return.

Now we have JJ, who I think will make all the shooters on this team better including Moore. Which was also part of the debate, how good could Moore be? Could he get to elite 3 pt specialist range? Now he has JJ and he should literally be taking notes by the minute.

I have to say for this season, and this team Lonzo is no brainer more important that Moore. But Moore has sneaky value.

What say ye?

Why is this even a question?

You compared an elite defensive and passing PG with shooting problems to a replaceable in every way bench guard?

WHY?

They both have roles on this team and both will play similar minutes. Jrue and JJ will be out closers not Jrue and Lonzo.

They both have trade value with production and reasonable contracts.

They both have shown glimpses of good with glimpses of suck.

They both have had inj concerns.

Theyre more similar than you think, and one of the two could be moved.

Name the guys in the NBA we can get who hve shot over 40% from 3 the past few years (hint - Moore) in a row that we could get on out team this year?

After JJ, who we got, its slim pickings bruh.

Dont undervalue Moore and his 3 shooting dude. He’s got value, he is not just some end of the bench scrub like your making him out to be.

What is the question, if Lonzo would have been better than Moore last year? I mean they do completely opposite things on the court, but I'd take Lonzo all day for his defensive impact.

Same question as last year, but for this year.

Last year I said Moore, but this year, even though we still need 3 shooting badly I say Lonzo, since Elfrid Payton is out.

Lol epic cajun dont expose yourself to be someone who posts but doesnt watch the damn games.

By the way Moore has averaged 28 minutes per game since he’s been a pelican. That’s three seasons in a row brother. Please follow the team then post.

Lol dude, where you getting those numbers? More like 20-25, or even closer to the 28 he’s averaged. Moore averaged 31 minutes a game in our playoff season. Do you watch? Damn bruh.

Jj, jrue, lonzo, moore, hart are gonna split those minutes up. NAW if he develops. Hart can swing out and play 3, Jrue does it often also. And they will need to since we basically have Ingram as our 3 with no other strong options, leaving minutes for our combo guards at sg.

Hart/lonzo/jrue all shot below 33% or below from 3 last year.

Moore will still play significant minutes for this team. Jj, Moore, and Miller are the only significant and consistent 3 shooters on this team. I should have known this board would write off Moore as if he was garbage. If you think moore wont play and play alot then there’s no point in joining the debate, youre clueless.

Lonzo has Fringe all star potential and potential first team defense at guard, and Moore is a likeable 7th to 8th 3 pt specialist on a good team. Moore could be moved at the deadline for a couple seconds, or packaged with miller and a first or 2 for a good player or possibly packaged with Derrick Favors to a playoff team in need of some last second Depth or starters bc injuries for another First and cap relief for us. Either way Moore has 1 more year on this team max.

Whodat, have to agree for this years team. Its worth seeing if Lonzo can develop his shot some more. But we really will still need Moore’s shooting this year.

The only reason most on here love Lonzo is because he’s a part of the team. The cats singing his praise wanted no part of him last year. I’m in the cautiously optimistic camp. I don’t really like him but he’s here so might as well except it.
